Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh beberapa permasalahan diantaranya: (1) waktu untuk menyelesaikan praktikum lambat, karena prosedur pembelajaran yang tidak tepat; (2) kurangnya usaha guru dalam mendesain model pembelajaran yang bervariatif, inovatif, dan kreatif yang bisa menimbulkan motivasi belajar siswa, sehingga siswa dapat memaksimalkan waktu belajar dan praktik; (3) hasil evaluasi setiap tahun pada kerja praktik las tidak sesuai dengan waktu yang telah ditentukan; (4) kurangnya keseriusan siswa dalam melakukan praktik mengelas dengan proses las busur listrik. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini bermula dari adanya keterlambatan dalam melaksanakan praktik mengelas dengan alokasi waktu yang telah ditentukan kurikulum. Tujuan dari penelitian yang dilakukan ini untuk meningkatkan efektivitas waktu kerja praktik siswa kelas X TP2 di SMK Negeri 1 sagaranten. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari tiga siklus. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukan peningkatan efektivitas waktu kerja. Hasil rata-rata waktu kerja praktik tiap siklusnya sbb; pada siklus I 9,12 menit dengan hasil benda kerja yang kurang baik dan rapi, kemudian meningkat pada siklus II 8,07 menit dengan hasil benda kerja yang cukup baik dan rapi, dan siklus III 5,53 menit dengan hasil benda kerja yang baik dan rapi. Meningkatnya efektivitas waktu kerja praktik siswa maka meningkat pula hasil belajar siswa. Hasil belajar siswa ranah psikomotor meningkat pada setiap siklusnya sbb; pada siklus I 66,99 (tidak terampil), meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 79,25 (cukup terampil), dan siklus III 91,1(amat terampil). Berdasarkan analisis data hasil penelitian yang diperoleh di lapangan maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran direct instruction dapat meningkatkan efektivitas waktu kerja pada standar kompetensi melakukan pengelasan dasar pada siswa kelas X TP2 di SMK Negeri 1 Sagaranten. The research was motivated by several issues including: (1) the time to complete the practicum slow, because the learning procedure is not appropriate, (2) lack of teacher effort in designing learning models varied, innovative, and creative which could lead to students' motivation, so students can maximize your study time and practice, (3) the results of the evaluation each year at work welding practices are not in accordance with the specified time, (4) lack of seriousness in the students practice welding with electric arc welding process. Problems in this study originated from the delays in implementing the practice weld with a specified time allocation curriculum. The purpose of this study was to increase the effectiveness of working time practices TP2 class X students in SMK Negeri 1 Sagaranten. The research method used was action research (CAR), which consists of three cycles.The results obtained show an increase in the effectiveness of working time. Average yield of each cycle working time practices as follows: in the first cycle of 9.12 minutes with results unfavorable workpiece and neat, then increased in the second cycle 8.07 minutes with the results of the work piece is quite good and neat, and the third cycle 5.53 minutes with a good result workpiece and neat. Increasing the effectiveness of the students' working time practices also increase student learning outcomes.Psychomotor domains of learning outcomes of students increased at each cycle as follows: in the first cycle 66.99 (unskilled), increased in the second cycle to 79.25 (skilled enough), and the third cycle 91.1 (highly skilled). Based on data analysis results obtained in the field, it can be concluded that the application of direct instruction teaching model can improve the effectiveness of the working time on competency standards do basic welding in class X TP2 in SMK Negeri 1 Sagaranten.
