Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan karena melihat kurangnya kesiapan siswa SMK Teknik Gambar Bangunan dalam menghadapi persaingan di dunia kerja pada Masyarakat Ekonomi Asean 2015 khususnya karena kendala bahasa sebagai salah satu kualifikasi yang dibutuhkan oleh lulusan SMK. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah ; (1) Untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa sebelum penerapan buku saku; (2) Untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa setelah penerapan buku saku; (3) Untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan buku saku bilingual terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Konstruksi Bangunan; (4) Untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penghambat penerapan penggunaan buku saku bilingual.. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pre-experimental design dengan jenis one-group-pretest-posttest. Penelitian dilakukan pada kelas X TGB 3 di SMK Negeri 6 Bandung dimana siswa diberikan pembelajaran dalam dua bahasa yaitu Bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa Inggris. Siswa kemudian diberikan pre-test untuk mengetahui hasil belajar sebelum diterapkannya buku saku bilingual kemudian diberikan buku saku bilingual sebagai penunjang pembelajaran dan dilakukan post-test untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa setelah menggunakan buku saku. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan secara keseluruhan. Namun jika ditinjau secara parsial, penerapan buku saku bilingual hanya berpengaruh pada hasil belajar kognitif dan psikomotorik saja, sedangkan pada hasil belajar afektif penerapan buku saku ini tidak berpengaruh. Adapun faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perolehan hasil belajar tersebut diantaranya antusiasme dan partisipasi siswa dalam pembelajaran, penyampaian materi pembelajaran, intensitas penggunaan buku saku, dan kemampuan awal siswa dalam berbahasa asing. Kata Kunci : Buku Saku Bilingual, Hasil Belajar, Konstruksi Bangunan This research was done due the lack of readiness in vocational school students to face the competition in work field of Asean Economic Community 2015, especially because of language barriers whereas communication skills is one of important qualification that vocational graduates need. The purposes of this research are : (1) To discover the learning achievement of vocational students before the application of pocket book; (2) To discover the learning achievement of vocational students after the application of pocket book; (3) To discover the effect of pocket book usage to students learning achievement on Building Construction Subject; (4) To discover the obstacle of the bilingual pocket book application. The method that was used in this research was pre-experimental design method with one-group-pre-test-post-test. This research was done at X grade of Architecture Engineering 3 in 6 Bandung Vocational School. In this research, students are given bilingual learning in Bahasa and in English and then were given pre-test to measure the learning achievement before the application of pocket book. Then, pocket book was given to the students to help the learning process. After that, post-test was given to measure the learning achievement after the application of pocket book. The research outcomes show that the learning achievement was increasing generally. However, the outcomes is different if the learning achievement was reviewed partially. The application of pocket book was affecting cognitive and psychomotor learning outcomes, but has no effect on affective learning outcomes. The factors that affecting the learning outcomes are student’s enthusiasm and participation in learning process, the delivery of subject materials, the intensity of pocket book usage, and student’s ability to communicate in foreign language.
