Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari pengalaman penulis yang menemukan kesulitan dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) materi daur air. Subjek yang dikenai tindakan adalah kelas V-A yang berjumlah 17 siswa. Penulis melihat bahwa siswa dibiasakan menggunakan metode ceramah dan alat peraga yang kurang sesuai saat pembelajaran IPA berlangsung sehingga pemahaman konsep dan hasil belajar siswa rendah. Melihat keadaan demikian, penulis merasa bahwa dibutuhkannya metode yang tepat untuk pembelajaran IPA. Oleh sebab itu dilakukan perbaikan proses belajar melalui Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model picture and picture disertai metode eksperimen, alasan penulis menentukan kedua metode tersebut yaitu agar siswa mampu mengaplikasikan pembelajaran IPA melalui visual maupun percobaan, sehingga siswa mampu memahami dan menguasai konsep mata pelajaran IPA khususnya materi daur air. Model yang digunakan dalam penelitian tindakan kelas ini yaitu model penelitian yang dikembangkan oleh Kurt Lewin. Penelitian tersebut dilaksanakan selama dua siklus. Instumen pengumpulan data yang dilakukan yaitu menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes. Pada Siklus I hasil tes siswa memperoleh nilai rata-rata 63,5 dengan persentase ketuntasan sebesar 53% dan pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yaitu nilai rata-rata 80,5 dengan persentase ketuntasan sebesar 88%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model picture and picture disertai metode eksperimen dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPA siswa sekolah dasar kelas V-A. This research is motivated from the experience of the authors who have difficulties in learning Natural Sciences, water recycling materials. Subjects were subjected V-A is a class action totaling 17 students. The authors noticed that the students familiarized using the lecture method and props that are less appropriate when science learning takes place so that an understanding of concepts and low student learning outcomes. Seeing this situation, the authors feel that the need for appropriate methods for learning science. Therefore do repairs learning through classroom action research using the model picture and picture with the experimental method, the authors determine the reason the two methods is that the students are able to apply visual or learning science through experiments, so that students are able to understand and master the concept of eye materials science subjects especially the water cycle. The model used in this classroom action research is a research model developed by Kurt Lewin. The study was conducted over two cycles. Data collection instrument that uses observation sheets and tests. In the first cycle test results of students obtaining an average value of 63.5 with the completeness percentage at 53% and the second cycle occurred improving student learning outcomes that the average value of 80.5 with a percentage of 88% completeness. It can be concluded that the use of the model picture and picture with the experimental method can improve students' understanding of science concepts V-A primary school classroom.
