Abstract
Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya fenomena yang menunjukkan berbagai gejala perilaku yang mengindikasikan rendahnya pengendalian diri peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian adalah memperoleh konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan konseling realitas yang efektif untuk mengembangkan kendali diri peserta didik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain equivalent pretest-posttest control group. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner berbentuk skala likert yang diadaptasi dari Self-Control Scale (SCS) dari Tangney, Baumeister & Boone (2004). Partisipan dalam penelitian adalah 30 siswa kelas XI SMA Plus Muthahhari Bandung dengan kendali diri kategori rendah yang dibagi kedalam dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol (8 L : 7 P) dan kelompok eksperimen (8 L:7 P). Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon Rank Sum (Man Whitney) Test. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan peningkatan skor kendali diri peserta didik setelah diberikan perlakuan konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan konseling realitas signifikan, karena P value 0,000 <0.05 (α), maka disimpulkan konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan konseling realitas efektif untuk mengembangkan kendali diri peserta didik. This research is based on phenomenon that shows a variety of behavioral symptoms that indicate low self-control amongst eleventh grade students of High School Plus Muthahhari Bandung. The purpose of the study was to obtain the effectiveness of group counseling with reality approach WDEP model in developing of student’s Self-control. This study used a quantitative approach and quasi-experimental method with equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. During the Likert Scale Questionnaire form adapted from Self-Control Scale (SCS) by Tangney, Baumeister & Boone (2004) was used the technique to collect data questionnaires. The participants of the study were 30 students of class XIth High School Class Plus Muthahhari Bandung who had lower Self-control categories, and divided into control group (8 M : 7 F), and experimental group (8 M : 7 F). The taken sample was done using purposive sampling, and the Technique analysis used Wilcoxon Rank Sum (Man Whitney) test. The result show that group counseling with reality model can increase student’s Self-control, because P value 0,000 < 0,05 (α), that it can be concluded that group counseling with reality model effective to develop students Self-Control.
