Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan menguji efektivitas konseling melalui teknik self-talk untuk meningkatkan disiplin diri peserta didik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen kuasi dan desain penelitian nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design (pretest-posttest dua kelompok). Lokasi penelitian adalah SMK PGRI 2 Kota Bandar Lampung. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas peserta didik kelas X yang ditentukan secara non-random menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan ukuran gejala pusat dan uji t berpasangan (paired t test). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Skala Disiplin Diri Peserta Didik. Intervensi dirancang berdasarkan profil umum disiplin diri peserta didik dan data hasil pre-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) tingkat disiplin diri peserta didik kelas X SMK PGRI 2 Kota Bandar Lampung termasuk kategori sedang menuju tinggi; (2) tingkat disiplin diri peserta didik kelas X SMK PGRI 2 Kota Bandar Lampung pada kelima aspek menunjukkan kecenderungan tingkat disiplin diri paling tinggi berada pada aspek ketekunan ditandai dengan nilai rata-rata disiplin diri paling besar pada aspek tersebut; (3) ) secara empirik, konseling melalui teknik self-talk efektif untuk meningkatkan disiplin diri peserta didik kelas X SMK PGRI 2 Kota Bandar Lampung; (4) kenaikan rata-rata skor paling besar ditunjukkan oleh aspek keempat yakni kemampuan untuk melaksanakan keputusan atau rencana setelah menerima perlakuan berupa konseling melalui teknik self-talk untuk meningkatkan disiplin diri peserta didik. Rekomendasi penelitian ditujukan bagi: (1) Peserta didik; (2) Pihak sekolah dan Guru bimbingan dan konseling; (3) Sivitas akademika bimbingan dan konseling; dan (4) Peneliti selanjutnya. The study aims to test the effectiveness of counseling through self-talk technique to improve self-discipline learners. The study uses a quantitative approach with quasi experimental methods and research design nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group (pretest-posttest two groups). Location of the study was SMK PGRI 2 Bandar Lampung. Research subjects consisted of students of grade X are determined by non-random purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the size of the central symptoms and paired t-test (paired t test). The research instrument used is Scale Self Discipline of Students. Interventions designed based on the general profile of self-discipline of learners and the data pre-test results. The results showed: (1) the level of self-discipline of students of grade X SMK PGRI 2 of Bandar Lampung is heading higher category; (2) the level of self-discipline of students of grade X SMK PGRI 2 Bandar Lampung on five aspects showed a tendency to the highest level of self-discipline is the persistence aspect is characterized by the average value of the greatest self-discipline on these aspects; (3) self-talk techniques proved empirically effective to enhance self-discipline of students; (4) increase in the average score of the greatest indicated by the fourth aspect of the ability to implement the decisions or plans after receiving treatment in the form of counseling through self-talk technique to improve self-discipline learners. Recommendations research aimed at: (1) students; (2) school board and school counselors; (3) academicians in the field of guidance and counseling; (4) further research.
