Abstract
Penelitian Tindakan kelas (PTK) ini diawali dengan observasi terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas IVA SDN Buah Batu Cibodas untuk mengetahui permasalahan yang terdapat di kelas tersebut. Permasalahan yang ditemukan yaitu mengenai hasil belajar siswa yang masih dibawah 85% siswa mendapatkan nilai di atas KKM dan kegiatan pembelajaran masih menggunakan model konvensional seperti ceramah. Oleh karena itu, dalam penelitian ini peneliti menerapkan model learning cycle dalam pembelajaran IPA. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu bagaimana pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model learning cycle dan bagaimana hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran learning cycle dalam pembelajaran IPA pada pokok bahasan Perubahan Lingkungan dan Pengaruhnya terhadap Daratan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model learning cycle. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan model PTK yang dikembangkan oleh Kemmis dan Taggart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus. PTK ini dilaksanakan di kelas IVA SDN Buah Batu Cibodas Kecamatan Lembang Kabupaten Bandung Barat dengan jumlah siswa 26 orang yang terdiri dari 16 orang siswa perempuan dan 10 orang siswa laki-laki. Pembelajaran model learning cycle ini terdiri dari tiga tahapan, yaitu tahapan eksplorasi, tahapan pengenalan konsep, dan tahapan penerapan konsep. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam PTK ini terdiri dari lembar observasi terhadap guru dan siswa serta lembar evaluasi yang berupa tes tertulis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada setiap siklus. Nilai rata-rata kelas pada siklus I mencapai 68,8 dengan ketuntasan belajar siswa menurut KKM sebesar 76% dan nilai rata-rata pada siklus II mencapai 82,2 dengan ketuntasan belajar siswa menurut KKM mencapai 92%. Berdasarkan hasil belajar tersebut, penerapan model learning cycle dalam pembelajaran IPA dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menyarankan para guru untuk menerapkan model learning cycle dalam pembelajaran khususnya pembelajaran IPA. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was started with observation about learning activity in the fourth grade of SDN Buah Batu Cibodas, The District of Lembang. The aimed of this observation is for knowing the learning problem and the problems are less than 85% students who had good result and the teacher usually use a conventional model such as speech. Due to that problems, learning cycle model has used by the researcher. The statements of problem of this research are how the implementation of learning cycle in the environment change and the influence toward land and how the student science achievement in the environment change and the influence toward land. This research is aimed to increase elementary students science achievement by using learning cycle model. The method of this research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) with Kemmis and Taggart Model which was done in two cycles. The research subjects are 26 students (16 female students and 10 male students) in the fourth grade of SDN Buah Batu Cibodas, The District of Lembang, West Bandung. The learning cycle model have three steps, there are exploration, concept introduction and concept application. Data was collected by observation reports for teacher and students also test instrument. The result showed that there was an increase of elementary students science achievement score averages of the first cycle 68,8 to the second cycle 82,2 and 76% to 92% students who had good result. Grounded on that result, the implementation of learning cycle model in science can improve student science achievement. Therefore, the learning cycle model can be used by teacher in every learning activity especially for science.
