Abstract
Pendidikan karakter telah dilaksanakan melalui pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama dan PMP. Faktanya, fenomena pelajar dan remaja bergaul bebas, terlibat narkoba, tawuran. Kondisi ini sangat mengkhawatirkan. Pendidikan karakter melalui kedua pelajaran tersebut selama ini lebih menekankan pada aspek pengetahuan tetapi kurang memperhatikan pada sikap dan aplikasinya dalam kehidupan nyata. Padahal melalui pendidikan diharapkan tercipta manusia yang bertakwa, cerdas, beradab dan berakhlak mulia. Karena itu pengelolaan pendidikan harus mengalami perubahan. Sekolah-sekolah Islam memiliki kurikulum khas dan mengintegrasikan pembelajaran terpadu dan pembinaan komprehensif dan memberikan penguatan pendidikan nilai-nilai akhlak mulia pada peserta didiknya selama dalam asrama. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui dan menggali data mengenai bagaimana pengelolaan pendidikan karakte rakhlak mulia dilakukan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, merupakan studi kasus pada tiga sekolah berasrama. Fokus penelitiannya adalah bagaimanakah perencanaan program pendidikan karakter akhlak mulia, strategi pengelolaan pendidikan karakter, kegiatan monitoring dan evaluasi, indikator keberhasilan dan dampak yang dirasakan serta mempengaruhi citra ketiga lembaga tersebut ? Penulismelakukan pengumpulan data melalui wawacara, observasi lapangan, observasipartisipatif, dan studi dokumen. Nara sumber penelitian dipilih dengan teknik snowball sampling terhadap pengurus yayasan, dewan guru, pegawai, orang tuasiswa, dan masyarakat sekitar. Teknik analisis data dengan mendeskripsikan konteks dan kejadian yang diperoleh, mengklasifikannyadanmenghubung-hubungkan kategori tersebut sehingga diperoleh makna sebenarnya. Dilakukan member check, triangulasi, perpanjangan waktu penelitian dan audit hasil penelitian. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa sekolah melakukan pengembangan program pendidikan karakter akhlak mulia, menyusun kurikulum terpadu, mengintegrasikan nilai karakter dalam pembelajaran, melakukan pembinaan pendidikan akhlak mulia, menerapkan kepemimpinan yang demokratis. Monitoring dan evaluasi dilakukan terhadap perencanaan dan pelaksanaan program, berlangsung terus menerus terhadap seluruh aspek kegiatan dengan pendekatan holistik. Indikator keberhasilan pendidikan karakter yang tampak berupa perilaku disiplin, patuh pada peraturan, jujur, prestasi belajar meningkat dan minimnya kasus pelanggaran yang terjadi. Dampak yang dirasakan adalah meningkatnya kepercayaan masyarakat dan menjadikan lembaga pendidikan semakin berkembang. Rekomendasinya bahwa pendidikan karakter berjalan efektif dengan adanya komitmen, kebersamaan dan menjalin kemitraan. Kata kunci :pengelolaan, pendidikankarakter, akhlakmulia, sekolahberasrama. Character education has been applied through Religious and Civic Education. In fact, there is phenomenon of students do free sex, drugs and fights. This condition makes worried. Character education through both subjects tends to emphasize on knowledge but weak on attitude and its application. Through education, it aims to create Indonesian people smart, civilized and noble character. That is the reason why management of education should change. Islamic boarding schools have own curriculum and offer integrated learning approach and comprehensive development in implementing education character of akhlakulkarimah values to students. This study is aimed to know and find out data about management of Islamic based character education with case study method in three Islamic boarding schools. This study used qualitative approach for taking pictures on phenomenon occurred surrounding. Focus of the study is to know how to: develop planning program of Islamic based character education, develop strategy of implementation, conduct its monitoring and evaluation activities, reach its successful indicator of implementation, and obtain its impact on the institution image. Based on the reasons and research problems above, the writer collected data through the activities such as interview with founders, teacher council, staff, parents, and community around. Also, he did observation, participant observation and documentation study. For having validity of the study result, he conducted member check, triangulation, lengthening the study and research audit trail. The study concludes that the planning program of Islamic based character education formulates school vision, mission, and objectives, develop integrated curriculum (science, religion, and local), the strategy of implementation of program can be seen from actualizing the active learning process, developing students’ extra activity, religious habit and leadership. Monitoring and evaluation conducted on planning and program implementation and practitioners such as, students, teachers and school staff continuously and holistically. The success of managerial implementation has been indicated by students attitude change, disciplinary, obedience, learning achievement, and less violence. For making effective character education program should involve of parents community, togetherness and commitment.
