Abstract
Penelitian ini mengenai penggunaan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) untuk meningkatkan pemahaman matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika pokok bahasan pecahan. Secara umum, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) untuk meningkatkan pemahaman matematis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika pokok bahasan pecahan pada siswa kelas III di SDN 2 Suntenjaya Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Secara khusus tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan dan peningkatan pemahaman matematis siswa pada pembelajaran matematika pokok bahasan pecahan dengan menggunkan pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education (RME). Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), yaitu penelitian yang mengkaji dan merefleksi suatu pendekatan pembelajaran dengan tujuan meningkatkan atau memperbaiki kualitas suatu pembelajaran. Penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III SDN 2 Suntenjaya yang berjumlah 36 orang siswa. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah instrument tes,observasi dan angket. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan terhadap tiga siklus ternyata pemahaman matematis siswa mengalami peningkatan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata siswa yang meningkat dari setiap siklusnya.. Siklus I rata-ratanya 64, 3 kemudian siklus II meningkat rata-ratanya menjadi 68,6 dan dan kembali meningkat pada siklus III rata-ratanya menjadi 80,27. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan RME dapat meningkatkan pemahaman matematis siswa. Berdasarkan simpulan di atas peneliti merekomendasikan kepada guru untuk lebih mengkaji teori pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) dan guru dapat menggunakan pendekatan tersebut dalam pembelajaran matematika pokok bahasan pecahan. This research is about the application of Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach to improve students’ mathematical comprehension on Mathematics especially fraction lesson. Basically, the purpose of this research is to describe the application of Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach to improve students’ mathematical comprehension on Mathematics learning especially fraction lesson on the third grade students of SDN 2 Suntenjaya West Bandung Regency. Particularly, the purpose of this research is to describe the implementation and the improvement of students’ mathematical comprehension on Mathematics learning especially fraction lesson using Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach. The method which was used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR), namely the research examining and reflecting a learning approach in order to improve or fix the quality of learning. This research consists of three cycles; each cycle consists of the planning, implementation of observation and reflection. The subject of this research is the third grade students of SDN 2 Suntenjaya consisted of 36 students. The instrument which was used in this research is test, observation, and questionnaire. Based on the observation result of the three cycles it is found that the students’ comprehension has improvement. It can be observed from the students’ average score which is improved on each cycle. The average of Cycle I is 64.3 then Cycle II improved to 68.6 and Cycle III became 80.27. Based on the finding it can be concluded that RME approach can improve students’ mathematical comprehension. According to the conclusion above the researcher recommends the teachers to examine Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach more and the teachers can use the approach on Mathematics learning especially on fraction lesson.
