Abstract
Sebuah tulisan selalu mengandung argumen penulisnya. Kemampuan inilah yang menjadi dasar kemampuan dalam membuat sebuah teks. Namun, banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam membuat sebuah argumen yang kuat ketika menulis. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kesulitan mereka dalam menghasilkan gagasan. Untuk mengembangkan kemampuan menulis siswa SMA ini, peneliti akan menganalisis kekuatan argumen yang dimiliki siswa berdasarkan atruktur argumennya dan menerapkannya dalam pengembangan metode untuk pembelajaran menulis eksposisi. Terdapat lima rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini, yaitu bagaimana struktur argumen siswa SMA dalam tulisannya? Bagaimana profil tulisan siswa SMA? Bagaimana rancangan metode curah gagasan berorientasi pendekatan genre? Bagaimana proses pembelajarannya? Bagaimana hasil pembelajarannya? Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kompleksitas struktur argumen siswa SMA dalam tulisannya, bagaimana penerapan pembelajarannya serta bagaimana hasil pembelajarannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kombinasi atau mix methode. Disain yang peneliti gunakan adalah exploratory. Sumber data kualitatif yang peneliti gunakan adalah tulisan-tulisan siswa SMA yang telah terbitkan. Sumber data dalam fase kuantitatif ini, adalah kelas X MIA V di SMA Negeri 1 Lembang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kualitatif, struktur argumen siswa SMA dalam tulisannya banyak menggunakan tipe ketiga, yaitu chain. Siswa banyak menggunakan premis-premis untuk mendukung sebuah klaim dan klaim tersebut digunakan juga sebagai penguat klaim utama yang ingin mereka sampaikan. Siswa banyak menggunakan tipe chain ini dikarenakan siswa sudah mampu menyimpulkan berbagai klaim menjadi sebuah pernyataan utama. Cara andang suswa SMA pun sudah lebih luas. Hal itu disebabkan oleh jenis bacaannya yang sudah semakin beragam, kemudahan mendapatkan informasi dan teman diskusi yang sudah lebih dewasa sehingga mampu mengembangkan pola berpikirnya. Peneliti menerapkan hasil analisis dalam metode curah gagasan berorientasi pendekatan genre yang akan digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis eksposisi. Hasil penerapan metode ini adalah siswa mengalami peningkatan rata-rata, pada prates siswa mendapatkan rata-rata 53.30, sedangkan pada tes akhir nilai rata-rata 70.60. Dalam uji-t didapatkan hasil thitung = 3.47 > ttabel(95%)(38) = 2,024. Dengan perolehan ini Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hal ini memperlihatkan bahwa metode curah gagasan berorientasi pendekatan genre dan pemahaman terhadap struktur argumen ini dapat membantu siswa dalam menulis sebuah teks terutama teks eksposisi. A writing always contains the arguments of the author. This ability is the basis of the ability of creating a text. However, there are a lot of atudents who have difficulties in making a strong argument when they are writing. This is due to their difficulty in generating ideas. In order to develop the writing skills of high school students, the researcher will analyze the strength of the arguments for the student based in its structure and apply the in the development of methods for teaching writing exposition. There are five formulation of the problems in this study, that are, how is the structure of high school student in his argument? How is the profile of high school students’ writing? How is the design of brainstorming method genre-based approach ariented? How is the learning process? How is the learning outcomes? This study is aimed to determine the complexityof the argument’s structure of high school students in their writing, how the application of learning is and how the learning outcomes is. The research method used was mix method. The design that reseacher used was exploratory. The sources of qualitative data that researcher used were the writings of the high shcool students which have been published . the source of data in this quantitative phase, is class X MIA V in SMAN 1 Lembang. Based of the Findings of qualitative reseach, the structure of the argument of high school students’ writing uses the third type, namely chain. Students use a lot of premises to support a claim and the claim is used as well as the reinforcement of the main claim that they want to convey. Many students use this chain type due to their ability of deducing various claims into a main statement. The perspective of high school students has alo become more widely. This is coused by their diverse type of reading, the easiness of getting information and more mature partners of discussion that lead to the development of their mindset. Researcher applied the findings of the analysis to the brainstorming method genre-based approach oriented which was used in teaching writing exposition. The findings of the method application is that students experience an average enhancement, in the pre-test, the students get an average score of 53.30, whereas at the post-test their average score is 70.60. in the t-test, it is obtained tobt = 3.47 > ttable(95%)(38) = 2.024. based on this result, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This indicates that the brainstorming method genre-based approach oriented and uderstanding toward the structure of argument can assist students in writing a text, particulary the text exposition.
