    Abstract

    Golden age merupakan periode emas dalam perkembangan anak, termasuk dalam hal kecerdasan emosional. Kecerdasan emosional penting untuk mendukung keberhasilan sosial dan akademis anak. Diperlukan lingkungan yang mendukung terutama dari orang tua untuk mengembangkannya. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) gambaran tingkat keterlibatan orang tua; (2) kecerdasan emosional anak; serta (3) pengaruh tingkat keterlibatan orang tua terhadap kecerdasan emosional anak usia 4-6 tahun di Kampung Babakan Baru. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif korelasional. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 36 anak usia 4-6 tahun beserta orang tuanya, yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel total sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan prosedur statistik dengan bantuan software SPSS versi 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) tingkat keterlibatan orang tua di Kampung Babakan Baru termasuk pada kategori tinggi (33.3%) dan sedang (33.3%), dengan aspek communication sebagai aspek paling menonjol; (2) tingkat kecerdasan emosional anak usia 4-6 tahun termasuk pada kategori rendah (36.1%) dengan indikator keterampilan sosial sebagai indikator yang paling berkembang; (3) koefisien korelasi sebesar 0.425 > rtabel = 0.329, menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif lemah antara keterlibatan orang tua dan kecerdasan emosional anak usia 4-6 tahun. Meski demikian, nilai ρ ≠ 0 menunjukkan bahwa Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak, artinya terdapat pengaruh antara tingkat keterlibatan orang tua terhadap kecerdasan emosional anak usia 4-6 tahun. Rekomendasi penelitian ditujukan bagi sejumlah pihak yaitu orang tua, pendidik PAUD/TK, dan peneliti selanjutnya. The golden age is a crucial period in a child’s development, including the development of emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is essential to support children’s social and academic success. A supportive environment, especially from parents, is needed to foster its growth. This study aims to determine: (1) the description of parental involvement; (2) the emotional intelligence of children; and (3) the effect of parental involvement on the emotional intelligence of children aged 4-6 years in Kampung Babakan Baru. The study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational method. The research subjects consisted of children aged 4-6 years and their parents, determined using the total sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using statistical procedures with the help of SPSS version 23. The findings revealed that: (1) the level of parental involvement in Kampung Babakan Baru was in the high (33.3%) and medium (33.3%) categories, with communication being the most prominent aspect; (2) the emotional intelligence level of children aged 4-6 years was in the low category (36.1%), with social skills as the most developed indicator; (3) the correlation coefficient of 0.425 > rtable = 0.329, indicated a weak positive effect between parental involvement and children’s emotional intelligence. However, since the value of ρ ≠ 0, Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected, meaning there is an effect of parental involvement on the emotional intelligence of children aged 4-6 years. The study provides recommendations for parents, early childhood/ kindergarten teachers, and future researchers.
