Abstract

Penelitian ini berawal dari hasil belajar siswa di pelajaran IPS yang rendah. Pembelajaran yang membosankan karena metode ceramah akan membuat siswa cepat merasa jenuh. Penggunaan model pembelajaran yang tepat diharapkan akan membuat siswa aktif dan dimudahkan dalam mengikuti pelajaran sehingga membuat hasil belajar siswa dapat meningkat. Hal ini yang membuat penulis melakukan penelitian terhadap hasil belajar siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) pada pelajaran IPS terutama pada pokok bahasan masalah sosial di lingkungan setempat. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SDN 3 Cikidang Kecamatan Lembang Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan model cooperative learning tipe STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS pada pokok bahasan masalah sosial di lingkungan setempat, serta bagaimana perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan hasil yang diperoleh siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV dengan jumlah 20 siswa perempuan dan 20 siswa laki-laki. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang digunakan penulis merupakan model Kemmis dan Taggart dalam tiga siklus yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes yaitu evaluasi serta non tes berupa lembar observasi dan catatan lapangan. Teknik pengolahan data yang dilakukan adalah dengan seleksi data, klasifikasi data, display data, dan interpretasi data. Hasil belajar yang diperoleh mengalami peningkatan, yakni pada sikus I rata-rata nilai siswa adalah 66,11 meningkat menjadi 84,85 pada siklus II dan 98,18 pada siklus III dengan presentase pencapaian KKM sebesar 100% atau semua siswa mencapai KKM berbeda dengan siklus I hanya 24 siswa yang mencapai KKM dan siklus II hanya 31 siswa. Rekomendasi untuk guru yang mengajar dikelas sebaiknya menggunakan model pembelajaran yang menyenangkan bagi siswa sehingga siswa tidak merasa bosan. Bagi kepala sekolah diharapkan memotivasi para guru dalam melakukan inovasi mengenai model pembelajaran. Dan bagi peneliti selanjutnya melakukan kajian teori lebih mendalam sebelum melakukan penelitian menggunakan model STAD, pengaturan waktu juga perlu diperhatikan lebih dalam menerapkan model STAD. Background of this research is based on students learning outcome which is very low in social science subject. Lecturing is one of the methods that used in the learning process and this method considered as inappropriate to be implemented, because many students feel bored during the learning process. Using appropriate learning model students are expected to be more active and focus on the subject. Moreover it can increase students’ learning outcomes. Based on those issues, the author conducted a study on students’ learning outcomes using cooperative learning model STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) in social studies, especially social problems in the local environment. This research was conducted at SDN 3 Cikidang, Lembang District,West Bandung. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of cooperative learning models STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) in improving students’ learning outcomes on social science subject especially social problems in the local environment, and also to find out the planning, conducting, and results was obtained by the students. The participants of this research were fourth grade students which consist of 20 female and 20 male. Model of action research used by the author are Kemmis and Taggart model. This model conducted in three cycles, starting with planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data were collected with the test and non-test evaluation, using observations and field notes. The data were analyzed using several steps, selection of data, data classification, data display, and interpretation of the data. The result of study shown students’ learning outcome is increase. At the first cycle the average of student score was 66.11 and it increased to 84.85, while in the second cycle 98.18, and third cycle with the passing grade percentage of 100% or all students achieve different passing grade with cycle I only 24 students who reached the passing grade and second cycle only 31 students. Furthermore, this method is recommended to be used by the teacher because it makes students more fun and do not feel bored during teaching and learning process. Principal also should motivate teachers to be more innovative in implemented the learning model. For researcher who conducts study at the same field, depth study of STAD model is important before conducting research, setting the time also need to be considered in implementing STAD model.
