    Abstract

    ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum dan sesudah diterapkannya model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dan Inquiry Learning, membandingkan perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis antara kedua model, serta mengukur efektivitas PBL dibandingkan Inquiry Learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran Front Office. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI Perhotelan SMKN 3 Cimahi yang terbagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelas eksperimen menggunakan PBL dan kelas kontrol menggunakan Inquiry Learning. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi kemampuan berpikir kritis yang dianalisis menggunakan perhitungan statistik yaitu uji normalitas, homogenitas, uji-t, dan uji n-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik PBL maupun Inquiry Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, namun peningkatan yang terjadi pada kelompok PBL lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok Inquiry Learning. PBL terbukti lebih efektif dalam memfasilitasi siswa untuk mengidentifikasi masalah, mengembangkan solusi, dan menerapkan pengetahuan dalam situasi nyata pada layanan akomodasi reception. ABSTRACT This study aims to describe students’ critical thinking skills before and after the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Inquiry Learning models, compare the differences in critical thinking skills between the two models, and measure the effectiveness of PBL compared to Inquiry Learning in improving students’ critical thinking skills in the Front Office subject. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design. The subjects were Grade XI Hospitality students at SMKN 3 Cimahi, divided into two groups: the experimental class using PBL and the control class using Inquiry Learning. The research instrument was a critical thinking skills observation sheet, analyzed using statistical tests, namely normality, homogeneity, t-test, and N-gain test. The results showed that both PBL and Inquiry Learning could improve students’ critical thinking skills; however, the improvement in the PBL group was higher than in the Inquiry Learning group. PBL was proven to be more effective in facilitating students to identify problems, develop solutions, and apply knowledge in real-life situations in reception accommodation services.
