    Abstract

    Demensia merupakan gangguan neurodegeneratif yang umum terjadi pada lansia dan ditandai dengan penurunan progresif fungsi kognitif, memori, dan kemampuan sosial. Penurunan fungsi kognitif berdampak pada kualitas hidup dan kemandirian lansia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi terapi senam otak dan terapi musik dalam meningkatkan fungsi kognitif pada lansia dengan demensia. Desain penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus yang dilakukan terhadap satu orang lansia dengan demensia ringan di BPSTW Griya Lansia Ciparay selama lima hari. Intervensi yang diberikan adalah kombinasi gerakan senam otak dan terapi musik klasik, dilaksanakan secara bertahap dan sistematis. Pengukuran dilakukan menggunakan instrumen MMSE (Mini Mental State Examination). Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan skor MMSE dari 17 (gangguan kognitif sedang) menjadi 23 (batas normal), serta perbaikan skor SPMSQ dan penurunan tingkat ansietas berdasarkan skor IDB. Terapi kombinasi ini terbukti efektif sebagai intervensi non-farmakologis yang aman dan mudah diterapkan dalam upaya mempertahankan fungsi kognitif lansia. Intervensi ini direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan secara rutin di komunitas atau panti lansia sebagai upaya preventif terhadap penurunan kognitif lebih lanjut. Dementia is a neurodegenerative disorder common in the elderly and is characterized by a progressive decline in cognitive function, memory, and social skills. This decline in cognitive function impacts the quality of life and independence of the elderly. This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of brain gymnastics and music therapy in improving cognitive function in elderly people with dementia. The research design used a descriptive method with a case study approach conducted on one elderly person with mild dementia at the Griya Lansia Ciparay BPSTW for five days. The intervention provided was a combination of brain gymnastics movements and classical music therapy, implemented in stages and systematically. Measurements were carried out using the MMSE (Mini Mental State Examination) instrument. The results showed an increase in the MMSE score from 17 (moderate cognitive impairment) to 23 (normal limit), as well as an improvement in the SPMSQ score and a decrease in anxiety levels based on the IDB score. This combination therapy has been proven effective as a safe and easy-to-implement non-pharmacological intervention in an effort to maintain cognitive function in the elderly. This intervention is recommended for routine implementation in communities or elderly homes as a preventive measure against further cognitive decline.
