    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman siswa pada materi pengelasan Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) dasar di SMK Negeri 1 Sumedang akibat keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang mampu memvisualisasikan komponen mesin las secara nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan serta mengimplementasikan media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) menggunakan aplikasi Assemblr Edu untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Subjek penelitian adalah 35 siswa kelas XI Teknik Pengelasan. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes hasil belajar (pretest–posttest), lembar validasi ahli materi dan media, serta angket respons siswa. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dengan perhitungan persentase validasi, N-Gain, dan tanggapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan media pembelajaran berbasis AR memperoleh kategori “sangat layak” berdasarkan validasi ahli. Uji coba menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman kognitif siswa dengan rata-rata skor N-Gain berada pada kategori sedang–tinggi. Selain itu, lebih dari 80% siswa memberikan respons positif yang termasuk kategori “sangat baik”. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran berbasis AR layak dan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa pada materi pengelasan SMAW dasar serta dapat menjadi alternatif media inovatif dalam pembelajaran vokasi di era digital. This study was motivated by the low level of students’ understanding of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) basic material at SMK Negeri 1 Sumedang, which was caused by the lack of learning media capable of visualizing welding machine components in a concrete and realistic way. The purpose of this research is to develop and implement a learning media based on Augmented Reality (AR) using the Assemblr Edu application to improve students’ understanding. The research method applied was Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The research subjects were 35 students of Grade XI Welding Engineering. The instruments consisted of learning achievement tests (pretest–posttest), validation sheets from material and media experts, and student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques through validation percentages, N-Gain, and student response results. The findings showed that the developed AR-based learning media was categorized as “very feasible” according to expert validation. The trial results indicated a significant improvement in students’ cognitive understanding with the average N-Gain score falling into the medium–high category. In addition, more than 80% of students gave positive responses which were categorized as “very good”. In conclusion, AR-based learning media is feasible and effective to enhance students’ understanding of SMAW basic material and can serve as an innovative alternative in vocational education within the digital era.
