Abstract
Minat terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) terus meningkat, seiring dengan upaya internasionalisasi budaya Indonesia. Namun, keterampilan menyimak sering kali menjadi tantangan utama bagi pemelajar BIPA tingkat dasar karena keterbatasan metode pengajaran yang efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut dengan menerapkan metode Respons Fisik Total (RFT) berbantuan audio dalam pembelajaran menyimak BIPA 1 di Balai Bahasa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain Single Subject Research (SSR) berbentuk A-B-A. Dua subjek dari latar belakang budaya dan bahasa berbeda dilibatkan dalam tiga tahap penelitian: baseline (A1) untuk mengukur kemampuan awal, intervensi (B) dengan penerapan metode RFT berbantuan audio, dan baseline (A2) untuk menilai efek setelah intervensi. Data diperoleh melalui tes menyimak dan angket pengalaman pemelajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan metode RFT berbantuan audio secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak pemelajar pada fase intervensi dibandingkan dengan baseline awal. Meski terjadi sedikit penurunan pada fase baseline akhir setelah intervensi dihentikan. Metode ini terbukti menciptakan suasan pembelajaran yang interaktif, menyenangkan, dan efektif untuk pemelajar BIPA 1 di Balai Bahasa UPI. Interest in learning Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) continues to increase, along with efforts to internationalize Indonesian culture. However, listening skills are often a major challenge for elementary BIPA learners due to limites effektive teaching methods. This study aims to overcome these obstacles by implementing the audio-assisted Total Physical Response (TPR) method in BIPA 1 listening learning at Balai Bahasa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a Single Subject Research (SSR) design in the form of A-B-A. Two subjects from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds were involved in three stages of the study: baseline (A1) to measure initial abilities, intervention (B) with the application of the audio-assisted TPR method, and baseline (A2) to assess the effects after the intervention. Data were obtained through listening tests and learner experience questionnaires. The results showed that the audio-assisted TPR method significantly improved learners listening skills in the intervention phase compared to the initial baseline. Although there was a slight decrease in the final baseline phase after the intervention was stopped. This method has been proven to create an interactive, enjoyable, and effective learning atmosphere for BIPA 1 learners at the Balai Bahasa UPI.
