Abstract

Gamelan Sorawatu memainkan peran penting dalam memperkuat identitas bangsa di era disrupsi yang berasal dari fenomena sosial di Kabupaten Majalengka. Dengan adanya pembangunan di Majalengka, ada harapan terhadap peningkatan kehidupan masyarakat, namun muncul kekhawatiran akan perubahan yang dapat memengaruhi lingkungan dan budaya lokal. Sehingga, fokus penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai nasionalisme dalam seni Gamelan Sorawatu serta proses pengembangannya untuk memperkuat karakter kewarganegaraan. Penelitian ini menggunakan kajian Kebudayaan dari Koentjraningrat, Interaksionisme Simbolik, Civic Disposition, Pendidikan perspektif Ki Hadjar Dewantara, Sosiokultural Citizenship, Modal Sosial, Hegemoni Antonio Gramsci, dan teori tentang nilai dalam gamelan. Metode penelitian menggunakan studi etnografi karena penelitian dilakukan secara mendalam dengan mengamati tingkah laku, lebih menyelidiki makna dari tingkah lakunya melalui melihat, mendengar, berbicara, berpikir, dan bertindak dengan berbeda. Alur pengumpulan data penelitian etnografi dengan cara Penelitian Etnografi Maju Bertahap menurut Spradley. Gamelan Sorawatu mencerminkan kolaborasi antara budaya dan lingkungan untuk menciptakan inovasi positif bagi masyarakat. Secara filosofis, gamelan ini mengajarkan harmoni, kesetaraan, dan keadilan sosial. Dari segi simbolis, setiap elemen dalam gamelan mencerminkan nilai-nilai seperti persatuan, kebersamaan, dan disiplin. Selain itu, partisipasi dalam Gamelan Sorawatu mendorong individu untuk terlibat dalam kegiatan positif dan mengajarkan nilai-nilai penting seperti tanggung jawab dan toleransi. Sejalan dengan hal tersebut, pendidikan non-formal yang diterapkan oleh Komunitas Kirik Nguyuh berperan dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk membentuk karakter kewarganegaraan. Ini menunjukkan bahwa seni tradisional dapat membangun kesadaran sosial dan menjadi sarana pendidikan karakter serta memiliki komitmen terhadap pelestarian budaya. Oleh karena itu, Gamelan Sorawatu menjadi simbol keberlanjutan lingkungan dan pemberdayaan sosial yang mendukung nilai-nilai Pancasila. Gamelan Sorawatu plays an important role in strengthening national identity in an era of disruption stemming from social phenomena in Majalengka Regency. With the development in Majalengka, there is hope for the improvement of people's lives, but there are concerns about changes that can affect the environment and local culture. Thus, the focus of this research is to find out the values of nationalism in the art of Gamelan Sorawatu and its development process to strengthen citizenship character. This research uses the study of Culture from Koentjraningrat, Symbolic Interactionism, Civic Disposition, Ki Hadjar Dewantara's perspective education, Sociocultural Citizenship, Social Capital, Hegemony Antonio Gramsci, and the theory of value in gamelan. The research method uses ethnographic studies because the research is conducted in depth by observing behavior, further investigating the meaning of behavior through seeing, hearing, speaking, thinking, and acting differently. The flow of ethnographic research data collection by means of Stepwise Forward Ethnographic Research according to Spradley. Gamelan Sorawatu reflects the collaboration between culture and environment to create positive innovations for the community. Philosophically, the gamelan teaches harmony, equality and social justice. Symbolically, each element in the gamelan reflects values such as unity, togetherness, and discipline. In addition, participation in Gamelan Sorawatu encourages individuals to engage in positive activities and teaches important values such as responsibility and tolerance. In line with this, non-formal education implemented by the Kirik Nguyuh Community plays a role in community empowerment to form citizenship character. This shows that traditional arts can build social awareness and become a means of character education and have a commitment to cultural preservation. Therefore, Gamelan Sorawatu becomes a symbol of environmental sustainability and social empowerment that supports the values of Pancasila.
