Abstract

Sungai Cikapundung telah diketahui mengalami pencemaran yang semakin meningkat dari bagian hulu hingga hilir. Pencemaran ini berpengaruh terhadap organisme perairan (benthos), untuk itu dilakukan kajian terhadap relung ekologi benthos yang berkaitan dengan pencemaran limbah domestik dan industri tekstil di sungai Cikapundung Hilir. Penelitian dilakukan di empat lokasi yang ditentukan berdasarkan perbedaan fungsi lahan yaitu: Babakan Siliwangi (area pemukiman), Banceuy (area perdagangan dan pemukiman), Soekarno Hatta (area industri dan perkantoran), dan Dayeuh Kolot (area industri tekstil). Penelitian dimulai dengan pengambilan sampel air, pengukuran parameter kimia dan fisika air, kemudian pengambilan benthos dengan menggunakan metode travelling kick net. Analisis data kimia dan fisik air menggunakan Indeks Kimia Fisik (IKF), dan memperlihatkan kualitas air yang semakin ke hilir semakin buruk. Pengkajian benthos menunjukan relung ekologi sebagai berikut: Hirudo melimpah pada lingkungan yang banyak terdapat limbah organik serta berperan sebagai parasit pada beberapa binatang, Lumbriculus banyak terdapat pada kondisi lingkungan yang bersubstrat lumpur berpasir dengan kondisi pencemaran sangat berat, Physa terdapat pada kondisi perairan dengan kecepatan arus lambat dengan tingkat pencemaran kritis, Culicidae mampu bertahan hidup pada kondisi perairan yang tercemar sedang, Chironomous terdapat pada perairan yang tercemar oleh bahan organik, Baetis dan Caenis merupakan benthos pemakan alga, bakteri yang menempel di batuan dan mikroorganisme yang terbawa arus serta mampu hidup pada kondisi perairan tidak tercemar hingga tercemar sedang, dan Hydropsyche banyak terdapat di perairan yang tercemar oleh bahan organik serta termasuk ke dalam benthos omnivora.---------- Cikapundung river has been known to experience increasing pollution from the upstream to downstream. The pollution effect on aquatic organisms (benthos), was carried out to study the ecological niche of benthos associated with domestic sewage and industrial pollution of textile in the Cikapundung downstream. The study was conducted at four locations are determined based on differences in land use: Babakan Siliwangi (residential area), Banceuy (trade and residential area), Soekarno-Hatta (industrial and office areas), and Dayeuh Kolot (textile area). The study began with the collection of water samples, measurements of chemical and physical parameters of the water, then taked the benthos using a traveling kick net method. Analysis of chemical and physical water use Indeks Kimia Fisik (IKF) showed that the water quality is getting progressively worse downstream. Assessment of ecological niches of benthos showed as follows: Hirudo abundant in the environment there is lots of organic waste and act as parasites on some animals, Lumbriculus found in many environmental sandy mud substrate with very heavy pollution conditions, Physa found in aquatic conditions with slow flow velocity with critical pollution levels, Culicidae able to survive the conditions being polluted waters, Chironomous present in polluted waters by organic matter, Baetis and Caenis, both eating algae, bacteria and microorganisms attached to rocks washed downstream and able to live on the water conditions not contaminated by polluted to medium pollution levels, and Hydropsyche numerous in waters polluted by organic matter as well as belonging to the benthos omnivores.
