Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPA. Di sekolah tempat pelaksanaan penelitian berlangsung, hanya 19% siswa yang mencapai nilai KKM. Sedangkan berdasarkan BSNP, pembelajaran dinyatakan tuntas apabila 75% siswa di kelas tersebut mencapai nilai KKM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model learning cycle pada kegiatan pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). PTK dilaksanakan sebanyak 3 siklus. Subyek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas V di SDN 1 Cibodas yang berjumlah 44 siswa, terdiri dari 16 perempuan dan 28 laki-laki. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis, format lembar observasi guru dan siswa, serta format lembar wawancara. Pada kegiatan pra-siklus, nilai rata-rata kelas yaitu 44,40. Salah satu kesulitan yang dialami siswa pada saat mengerjakan soal yaitu siswa tidak terbiasa mengerjakan soal yang berbentuk uraian. Siswa hanya terbiasa mengerjakan soal berupa pilihan ganda. Pada Siklus I nilai rata-rata kelas yaitu 61,68. Pada Siklus II 76,76 dan pada siklus III 87,26. Melalui hasil tes tersebut, terlihat bahwa nilai siswa pada setiap siklusnya mengalami peningkatan. Selain nilai siswa yang meningkat, keikutsertaan siswa dalam pembelajaran pun meningkat, terlihat dari hasil observasi siswa yang juga mengalami peningkatan. Dari penelitian ini, peneliti menyarankan guru-guru untuk menerapkan model learning cycle dalam pembelajaran. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) that implemented in three cycles. Research subjects are fifth grade students at SDN 1 Cibodas totaling 44 students, consisting of 16 girls and 28 boys. The instrument used was a written test, observation sheet format teachers and students, as well as the format of the questionnaire. In the pre-activity cycle, the average grade is 44.40. One of the difficulties experienced by students during the work on the problems that students are not used to work on the problems in the form of a description. Students are accustomed to working only in the form of multiple choice questions. In the first cycle the average grade is 61.68. Cycle II at 76.76 and 87.26 in the third cycle. Through the test results, it appears that student scores on each cycle has increased. In addition to increasing student scores, student participation in learning has increased, as seen from the observation of the students also increased.
