Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kecerdasan visual spasial terhadap gaya belajar pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Arsitektur Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 59 mahasiswa Angkatan 2024 yang dipilih secara Purposive Sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kecerdasan visual spasial (X) dan angket kuesioner gaya belajar (Y). Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa mahasiswa yang termasuk kedalam kategori kecerdasan visual spasial tinggi (45,8%), lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan yang termasuk kategori sedang (39%) dan rendah (15,3%). Adapun gaya belajar yang dominan adalah gaya belajar kinestetik (54,24%), kemudian visual (18,64%), dan auditori (15,25%). Hasil uji Spearman Rank menunjukan tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kecerdasan visual spasial terhadap gaya belajar mahasiswa, karena nilai signifikannya >0,05 pada semua tipe gaya belajar. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa kecerdasan visual spasial tidak secara langsung berhubungan dengan gaya belajar mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Arsitektur. Gaya belajar dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, walaupun kecerdasan visual spasial dianggap penting dalam bidang Arsitektur karena berkaitan dengan kemampuan memvisualisasikan dan memanipulasi bentuk ruang, nyatanya hal tersebut tidak cukup untuk menentukan bagaimana seseorang belajar secara efektif. This study aims to analyze the relationship between visual-spatial intelligence and learning styles among students in the Architectural Engineering Education program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The research employs a quantitative descriptive-correlational approach. The sample consists of 59 students from the class of 2024, selected through Purposive Sampling. Data were collected using a visual-spatial intelligence test (X) and a learning style questionnaire (Y). Results indicate that students categorized with high visual-spatial intelligence (45.8%) outnumbered those with moderate (39%) and low (15.3%) levels. The dominant learning style was kinesthetic (54.24%), followed by visual (18.64%) and auditory (15.25%). Spearman Rank tests revealed no significant relationship between visual-spatial intelligence and learning styles, as significance values exceeded 0.05 for all learning style types. Thus, it is concluded that visual-spatial intelligence does not directly correlate with the learning styles of Architectural Engineering Education students. Learning styles are influenced by multiple factors, and while visual-spatial intelligence is considered critical in architecture for visualizing and manipulating spatial forms, it alone is insufficient to determine effective learning strategies.
