Abstract
Penelitian ini berjudul “Perbandingan Penggunaan Pendekatan Konsep dengan Pendekatan Konteks dalam Membangun Kemampuan Kognitif Siswa pada Materi Sifat Larutan Asam, Basa, dan Garam”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan informasi tentang perbandingan capaian kemampuan kognitif siswa dengan menggunakan dua pendekatan yang berbeda. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment. Desain penelitian menggunakan dua kelompok eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan berbeda. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Subang. Instrumen penelitian yang dikembangkan berupa tes tertulis jenjang C2 dan C3 sesuai dengan indikator materi pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan kognitif siswa pada jenjang memahami dengan menggunakan pendekatan konsep maupun pendekatan konteks menunjukkan kriteria baik, dengan rata-rata capaian berturut-turut sebesar 65,1% dan 71,4%. Kemampuan kognitif siswa pada jenjang aplikasi dengan menggunakan pendekatan konsep maupun pendekatan konteks menunjukkan kriteria baik, dengan rata-rata capaian berturut-turut sebesar 61,0% dan 71,0%. Kemampuan kognitif siswa secara keseluruhan antara pendekatan konsep maupun pendekatan konteks menunjukkan kriteria baik, dengan rata-rata capaian berturut-turut sebesar 63,8% dan 71,2%.---------- This research titled "Comparison of Using the Concept Approach with the Context Approach to Build Students Cognitive Levels on Properties of Acid, Bases, and Salts Solution". The purpose of this research is to get information about the comparison students cognitive levels achievment by using two different approaches. The method used in this research is a quasi-experiment. The research design used two experimental groups that were given different treatment. The subjects were seven grade students in one of Junior High School in Subang. The research instrument that was developed is a written test levels of C2 and C3 in which is accorcanced with the indicators of learning materials. The results showed that students' cognitive levels at understanding level with using concept approach and context approach indicates good criteria, with average achievement are 65.1% and 71.4%. Students cognitive levels in the application level by using the concept approach and context approach indicates good criteria, with with average achievement are 61.0% and 71.0%. Students cognitive levels overall between concept approach and context approach shows good criterion, with with average achievement are 63.8% and 71.2%.
