Abstract
Peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di SMK dilakukan melalui pendekatan yang mendorong siswa untuk berpikir kritis dan aktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui penerapan Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam pembelajaran Teknik Pengukuran Tanah; (2) Mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan; dan (3) Mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan AI terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi perangkat pembelajaran, soal tes berpikir kritis (pretest dan posttest), lembar observasi, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian dilakukan di SMKN 2 Garut dengan sampel siswa kelas X DPIB 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang mendapatkan pembelajaran menggunakan AI, dan X DPIB 3 sebagai kelas kontrol yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil pretest kelas eksperimen menunjukkan rata-rata berkategori sedang dan posttest dengan rata-tara skor berkategori tinggi dengan N-Gain kategori sedang. Sementara itu, kelas kontrol memperoleh rata-rata pretest berkategori sedang dan posttest tinggi dengan N-Gain kategori rendah. Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas eksperimen selama tiga kali pertemuan berada pada kategori sangat baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan AI dalam pembelajaran meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Dengan demikian, AI dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran yang efektif dalam menunjang pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di SMK, khususnya pada mata pelajaran Teknik Pengukuran Tanah. The improvement of learning quality in vocational high schools is carried out through approaches that encourage students to think critically and actively. This study aims to: (1) examine the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the teaching of Land Surveying Techniques; (2) investigate students’ critical thinking skills before and after treatment; and (3) determine the effect of AI utilization on the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills. The study employed a quasi-experimental approach with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The instruments used consisted of learning materials, critical thinking test items (pretest and posttest), observation sheets, and documentation. The research was conducted at SMKN 2 Garut with a sample of Class X DPIB 2 as the experimental group, which received learning assisted by AI, and Class X DPIB 3 as the control group, which received conventional instruction. The pretest results of the experimental group indicated an average score categorized as moderate, while the posttest average reached a high category with an N-Gain in the moderate range. Meanwhile, the control group obtained an average pretest score in the moderate category and a posttest in the high category, but with a low N-Gain. The implementation of learning in the experimental group over three sessions was rated in the very good category. The findings indicate that the use of AI in learning enhances students’ critical thinking skills. Therefore, AI can serve as an effective alternative learning medium to support the development of students’ critical thinking skills in vocational high schools, particularly in the subject of Land Surveying Techniques.
