Abstract
Chocodot merupakan produk kuliner khas Garut yang dikembangkan sejak 2009 dan menjadi ikon wisata lokal. Salah satu outletnya, Chocodot Eduvacation, memadukan fungsi edukasi dan retail melalui museum, amphitheater, serta store oleh-oleh. Namun, tata letak eksisting masih menghadapi kendala berupa jalur rak yang sempit, fasilitas belanja terbatas, penempatan produk kurang strategis, signage minim, serta ventilasi dan pencahayaan belum optimal, sehingga pengalaman pengunjung belum maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas tata letak Chocodot Eduvacation dan merancang desain perbaikan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tata letak satu arah cukup mendukung alur kunjungan, tetapi perlu penyempurnaan. Perbaikan yang diusulkan meliputi pemindahan amphitheater ke area terpisah, penyempitan akses museum ke store untuk menjaga suhu, penambahan pintu toilet, serta perluasan ruang store melalui pergeseran tembok. Dengan rancangan baru ini, tata letak diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kenyamanan, memperkuat fungsi edukatif, dan mendukung pengalaman wisata kuliner yang lebih baik. Chocodot is a culinary product from Garut that has been developed since 2009 and has become a local tourism icon. One of its outlets, Chocodot Eduvacation, combines educational and retail functions through a museum, amphitheater, and souvenir store. However, the existing layout still faces several issues, such as narrow product aisles, limited shopping facilities, less strategic product placement, minimal sugnage, and suboptimal ventilation and lighting, which reduce the overall visitor experience. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Chocodot Eduvacation layout and propose an improved design. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through observation and interviews. The findings indicate that the one way layout generally supports the visitor flow, but improvements are needed. The proposed redesign includes relocating the amphitheater to a separate area, narrowing the access between the museum and store to maintain room temperature, adding doors to the toilets, and expanding to enhance comfort, strengthen the educational function, and support a better culinary tourism experience.
