    Abstract

    Pantai Santolo merupakan salah satu destinasi wisata unggulan di Kabupaten Garut yang memiliki potensi besar dalam sektor pariwisata. Namun, kawasan ini masih minim fasilitas akomodasi yang nyaman dan berkonsep arsitektur modern tropis. Laporan ini bertujuan untuk merancang hotel resort dengan konsep modern tropis yang menyesuaikan dengan iklim pantai serta meningkatkan kenyamanan wisatawan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi literatur, analisis tapak, dan observasi lapangan. Perancangan hotel resort ini menerapkan prinsip arsitektur tropis dengan penggunaan material ramah lingkungan, optimalisasi pencahayaan alami, dan sistem ventilasi silang untuk menciptakan bangunan yang hemat energi. Selain itu, elemen desain modern diaplikasikan melalui tata ruang yang fleksibel, fasad terbuka, dan integrasi lanskap alami untuk meningkatkan interaksi dengan lingkungan sekitar. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan modern tropis dapat menciptakan pengalaman menginap yang nyaman sekaligus mendukung keberlanjutan lingkungan. Dengan adanya hotel resort ini, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan daya tarik wisata Pantai Santolo serta memberikan dampak positif bagi perekonomian lokal. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penerapan konsep modern tropis dalam desain hotel resort mampu mengakomodasi kebutuhan wisatawan serta menjaga keseimbangan ekologis kawasan pesisir. Kata Kunci: Hotel Resort, Modern, Modern Tropis Pantai Santolo is one of the leading tourist destinations in Garut Regency with great potential in the tourism sector. However, this area still lacks comfortable accommodation facilities with a modern tropical architectural concept. This report aims to design a resort hotel with a modern tropical concept that adapts to the coastal climate while enhancing visitor comfort. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach through literature studies, site analysis, and field observations. The resort hotel design applies tropical architectural principles by utilizing environmentally friendly materials, optimizing natural lighting, and implementing a cross-ventilation system to create an energy-efficient building. Additionally, modern design elements are incorporated through flexible spatial arrangements, open façades, and the integration of natural landscapes to enhance interaction with the surrounding environment. The study results show that the modern tropical approach can create a comfortable lodging experience while supporting environmental sustainability. The presence of this resort hotel is expected to increase the tourism appeal of Pantai Santolo and have a positive impact on the local economy. The study concludes that the application of the modern tropical concept in resort hotel design can accommodate visitor needs while maintaining the ecological balance of the coastal area.
