    Abstract

Kata kunci: Nyeri, pijat kaki, post laparatomi apendiktomi Introduction: Postoperative pain is a common complaint frequently experienced by patients after undergoing surgical procedures, including those who have undergone laparotomy appendectomy. Inadequate pain management can negatively affect the recovery process. One alternative non-pharmacological therapy that can be used is foot massage therapy. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of foot massage in reducing pain levels in patients after laparotomy appendectomy. Methods: This study employed a case study with a qualitative approach, conducted in the surgical inpatient ward of a hospital in Bandung, involving one participant. The foot massage intervention was administered for three consecutive days, each session lasting 10 minutes, using the techniques of effleurage, tapotement, petrissage, and friction. Results: The study showed a significant reduction in pain levels, with a pain score of 3 on the third day of the intervention, as measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Conclusion: These findings indicate that foot massage therapy is effective as a non-pharmacological intervention in reducing postoperative pain and has the potential to support holistic patient recovery. Keywords: Foot massage , pain, post laparotomy appendectomyH
