    Abstract

    Pendidikan vokasi perlu membekali peserta didik dengan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) agar mampu beradaptasi dengan tantangan yang dihadapi dalam dunia industri, khususnya dalam sektor konstruksi. Namun, proses pembelajaran masih banyak menggunakan pendekatan konvensional yang menekankan hafalan sehingga belum optimal dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, analitis, dan kreatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui kegunaan media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) dalam meningkatkan HOTS siswa; (2) mengukur efektivitas media tersebut dalam proses pembelajaran; (3) menganalisis respon siswa terhadap penggunaannya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan quasy experiment menggunakan desain pretest-posttest only control group dan melibatkan dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal pilihan ganda untuk mengukur HOTS dan angket skala Likert untuk melihat respon siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media ARISE efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan HOTS siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan skor tes pada kelas eksperimen yang berada dalam kategori cukup efektif, serta terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Respon siswa terhadap penggunaan ARISE juga tergolong cukup baik, terutama pada aspek visualisasi materi, peningkatan motivasi belajar, serta keterlibatan aktif dalam pembelajaran. Temuan ini mendukung penggunaan media berbasis AR sebagai strategi pembelajaran yang adaptif dalam pendidikan vokasi untuk menjawab tuntutan industri yang terus berkembang. Vocational education plays a crucial role in preparing students to meet the demands of the industrial sector, especially in the field of construction. To achieve this, students must be equipped with Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), which are essential for critical, analytical, and creative problem-solving. However, conventional teaching methods that emphasize rote memorization are still widely used, limiting the development of these skills. This study aims to: (1) investigate the pedagogical use of Augmented Reality based instructional media in improving students HOTS; (2) evaluate its effectiveness within the learning process; (3) analyze student perceptions of its implementation. A quasi-experimental method was employed using a pretest-posttest only control group design, involving an experimental class and a control class. Instruments included multiple-choice tests to assess HOTS and a Likert-scale questionnaire to gather students’ responses. The findings reveal that the ARISE media is effective in improving students’ HOTS, as evidenced by a significant increase in post-test scores in the experimental group compared to the control group. Additionally, students reported positive experiences with ARISE, particularly in terms of improved material visualization, enhanced learning motivation, and greater engagement. These results suggest that AR-based learning media can serve as an adaptive and effective instructional strategy in vocational education to meet the evolving demands of industry.
