    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode diskusi dilema moral terhadap peningkatan penalaran moral siswa tunalaras di LPKA Kelas II Bandung. Penelitian menggunakan desain pre-eksperimental tipe one group pretest–posttest kepada 18 siswa berusia 14 tahun ke atas yang tersebar pada empat strata pendidikan. Terdapat 3 instrumen penilaian berupa cerita dilema moral yang relevan dengan kondisi siswa tunalaras di LPKA Bandung dengan pilihan ganda yang disusun berdasarkan enam tahap perkembangan moral Kohlberg. Analisis uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test dengan hasil Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 (< 0,05), sehingga hipotesis diterima dan metode diskusi dilema moral terbukti berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan penalaran moral. Selanjutnya, perhitungan effect size dengan Cohen’s d menunjukkan kategori efek besar (large effect, d ≥ 0,80). Proses diskusi dilakukan dalam kelompok kecil dan besar. Kelompok kecil terdiri dari 3 orang dalam satu kelompok. Selama proses pelaksanaan, dinamika diskusi kelompok kecil memungkinkan siswa bertukar pikiran, mempertimbangkan sudut pandang berbeda, dan mengambil keputusan moral yang lebih matang. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa metode diskusi dilema moral yang relevan dengan kehidupan siswa efektif untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir moral siswa di LPKA, sekaligus memperkuat nilai-nilai moral yang mereka miliki. This study aims to determine the effect of the moral dilemma discussion method on improving the moral reasoning of students with emotional and behavioral disorders at LPKA Class II Bandung. The study used a pre-experimental design of one group pretest–posttest with 18 students aged 14 years and above, spread across four educational levels. he assessment instruments consisted of three moral dilemma stories relevant to the conditions of the students at LPKA Bandung, presented in multiple-choice format and developed based on Kohlberg’s six stages of moral development. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test analysis yielded an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating that the research hypothesis was accepted and that the moral dilemma discussion method had a significant effect on improving moral reasoning. Furthermore, the calculation of effect size using Cohen’s d demonstrated a large effect category (d ≥ 0.80). The discussions were carried out in both small and large groups, with small groups consisting of three students each. During the process, the dynamics of small-group discussions enabled students to exchange ideas, consider different perspectives, and make more mature moral decisions. These findings indicate that the moral dilemma discussion method, when contextualized to students’ life experiences, is effective in developing the moral reasoning abilities of students at LPKA, while simultaneously strengthening the moral values they possess.
