    Abstract

The skills gap in Indonesia poses a serious challenge to human resource development, as nearly half of the workforce has only completed junior high school education. Field findings indicate that participants’ motivation in training programs is relatively low, as evidenced by withdrawal letters and a lack of commitment, despite the fact that learning outcomes have shown satisfactory achievements. Furthermore, it was found that some participants did not exhibit a specific learning style preference but were still able to achieve good learning outcomes. This study aims to describe the partial effect of learning motivation on skill learning outcomes, the partial effect of learning styles on skill learning outcomes, and the simultaneous effect of both on the skill learning outcomes of participants in the Domestic Apprenticeship Training Program at the Bandung City Manpower Office. The research employs a quantitative approach with independent variables consisting of learning motivation (X1) and learning style (X2), while the dependent variable is skill learning outcomes (Y). The study population comprised 250 apprenticeship training participants, with a sample of 40 individuals selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results show that learning motivation does not have a significant partial effect on skill learning outcomes, whereas learning style has a significant effect. Moreover, the F-test indicates that learning motivation and learning style have a significant simultaneous effect on skill learning outcomes. The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.631 suggests that 63.1% of the variation in skill learning outcomes can be explained by these two variables together.
