Abstract
Pendidikan karakter penting ditanamkan sejak usia dini. Implementasi pendidikan karakter tidak hanya dilakukan dalam jalur pendidikan formal, tetapi juga dalam pendidikan nonformal seperti pendidikan kesetaraan. Selain lembaga pendidikan, keluarga juga memiliki peran besar dalam membentuk karakter anak. Salah satu lembaga pendidikan nonformal yang mengintegrasikan peran lembaga dan keluarga adalah Kuttab Al-Fatih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya penerapan pendidikan karakter di Kuttab Al-Fatih sebagai lembaga pendidikan nonformal, nilai karakter dominan yang ditanamkan didalamnya, serta tantangan yang dihadapi dalam proses penguatan karakter kepada para para warga belajarnya. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kuttab Al-Fatih merupakan lembaga pendidikan nonformal yang tidak hanya menekankan pada pencapaian aspek kognitif saja, melainkan juga menekankan pada aspek afektif melalui penguatan karakter warga belajar. Nilai karakter dominan yang dikembangkan adalah penjagaan adab sebagai wujud dari sikap hormat, serta pembiasaan tanggung jawab sejak dini. Penguatan karakter dilakukan secara terstruktur melalui komponen dan prinsip pembelajaran yang khas. Kendala yang dihadapi meliputi keterlibatan orang tua, pengaruh lingkungan masyarakat sekitar, serta perkembangan teknologi yang pesat. Namun, kendala tersebut tidak menjadi penghalang bagi Kuttab Al-Fatih dalam menjalankan visi misi membentuk generasi gemilang sejak usia belia. Character education is important to instill from an early age. The implementation of character education is not only carried out in formal education pathways but also in non-formal education such as equivalency programs. In addition to educational institutions, families also play a major role in shaping children’s character. One non-formal educational institution that integrates the role of institutions and families is Kuttab Al-Fatih. This study aims to examine the efforts to implement character education at Kuttab Al-Fatih as a non-formal educational institution, the dominant character values instilled within it, as well as the challenges faced in the process of strengthening character among its learners. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The results show that Kuttab Al-Fatih is a non-formal educational institution that not only emphasizes the achievement of cognitive aspects but also focuses on affective aspects through character strengthening of its learners. The dominant character values developed are the preservation of manners as a form of respect and the habituation of responsibility from an early age. Character strengthening is carried out in a structured manner through distinctive learning components and principles. The challenges faced include parental involvement, the influence of the surrounding community environment, and the rapid development of technology. However, these challenges do not hinder Kuttab Al-Fatih in carrying out its vision and mission to shape a brilliant generation from an early age.
