    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh metode phonetic placement terhadap peningkatan kemampuan mengucapkan konsonan apikoalveolar (d, t, n, l, r) pada anak tunarungu. Keterbatasan pendengaran seringkali berdampak pada gangguan artikulasi, khususnya dalam memproduksi bunyi bahasa yang memerlukan koordinasi organ bicara yang tepat. Metode phonetic placement dipilih karena berfokus pada pendekatan visual dan kinestetik yang relevan dengan cara belajar anak tunarungu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain A-B-A dengan metode Single Subject Research (SSR). Subjek penelitian adalah seorang siswa tunarungu kelas V di SLB Negeri Cicendo Kota Bandung. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kinerja yang mencakup pengucapan huruf, suku kata, dan kata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan mengucapkan konsonan apikoalveolar. Rata-rata persentase kemampuan subjek meningkat dari 30% pada fase A1 (Baseline 1) menjadi 79,44% pada fase B (Intervensi). Peningkatan ini berlanjut pada fase A2 (Baseline 2) dengan rata-rata 92,77%, menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan yang diperoleh dapat dipertahankan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode phonetic placement memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengucapkan konsonan apikoalveolar (d, t, n, l, r) pada anak tunarungu. This study aims to examine the effect of the phonetic placement method on improving the ability to pronounce apicoalveolar consonants (d, t, n, l, r) in deaf children. Hearing impairments often result in articulation disorders, particularly in producing speech sounds that require precise coordination of speech organs. The phonetic placement method was chosen because it focuses on visual and kinesthetic approaches that are relevant to how deaf children learn. This study used a quantitative approach with an A-B-A design and the Single Subject Research (SSR) method. The research subject was a deaf fifth-grade student at SLB Negeri Cicendo in Bandung City. Data were collected through performance tests that included the pronunciation of letters, syllables, and words. The results of the study showed a significant improvement in the ability to pronounce apicoalveolar consonants. The average percentage of the subject's ability increased from 30% in phase A1 (Baseline 1) to 79.44% in phase B (Intervention). This improvement continued in phase A2 (Baseline 2) with an average of 92.77%, indicating that the acquired ability could be maintained. Thus, it can be concluded that the phonetic placement method has a significant effect on improving the ability to pronounce apicoalveolar consonants (d, t, n, l, r) in deaf children.
