Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya proses pembelajaran di salah satu Sekolah Dasar, dikarenakan guru masih melaksanakan pembelajaran secara konvensional yaitu metode ceramah. Hal tersebut berdampak terhadap rendahnya keterampilan proses sains siswa. Oleh karena itu, metode eksperimen digunakan sebagai solusinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk, (1) mendeskripsikan perencanaan pembelajaran IPA pada materi gaya magnet melalui penerapan metode eksperimen dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa, (2) mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPA pada materi gaya magnet melalui penerapan metode eksperimen dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa, dan (3) mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada pembelajaran IPA materi gaya magnet melalui penerapan metode eksperimen. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart dengan jumlah tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian kelas ini adalah kelas V SDN 3 Cibogo yang berjumlah 27 siswa, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa pre-test dan post-test, serta lembar observasi guru dan siswa. Hasil penelitian dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode eksperimen dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari analisis lembar observasi keterampilan proses siswa pada setiap siklusnya, yaitu pada siklus I keterampilan proses sains siswa berada pada kategori cukup terampil, pada siklus II kategori terampil, dan pada siklus III kategori sangat terampil. Selain itu didapat pula peningkatan post-test keterampilan proses sains dari setiap siklusnya, yaitu pada siklus I diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 65,77, siklus II diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 68,46, dan siklus III diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 85,22. Keterampilan proses sains yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah keterampilan mengklasifikasi, memprediksi, merencanakan percobaan, dan menyimpulkan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode eksperimen dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa. The subject class is class V SDN 3 Cibogo totalling 27 students, with data collection techniques in the form of pre-and post test-test observation sheet, as well as teachers and students. Research results by applying the experimental method indicates that the application of experimental methods can improve the skills of the process of science students. It can be seen from the analysis of the observation process skills sheets students on every cycle, i.e. in cycle I process skills science students are at a sufficient skilled categories, on cycle II category of skilled, and in cycle III highly skilled categories. In addition had also increased post-science process skill test of every cycle, i.e. in cycle I gained an average rating of 65,77, cycle II obtained an average value of 68,46, and cycle III obtained average value of 85,22. Science process skills measured in this study are the skills of classifying, predicting, planning experiments, and conclude. Based on the results of such research, it can be concluded that the application of experimental methods can improve the skills of the process of science students.
