Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan kebutuhan orang tua bekerja terhadap layanan daycare di lingkungan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) serta memetakan prioritas aspek layanannya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode survei melalui kuesioner terstruktur. Instrumen terdiri dari tiga pertanyaan kategorikal dan 23 pernyataan skala Likert yang telah divalidasi dengan nilai reliabilitas sangat baik (Cronbach’s α = 0,938). Sampel penelitian berjumlah 95 responden yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Analisis data mencakup perhitungan rerata, persentase, klasifikasi tingkat kebutuhan, serta pemeringkatan prioritas berdasarkan item dan aspek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan seluruh item berada di atas skor 3,00 dengan rerata keseluruhan 3,68. Sebesar 85% responden berada pada kategori kebutuhan sangat tinggi. Aspek dengan rerata tertinggi adalah kualifikasi pengasuh dan fasilitas fisik dengan masing-masing skor (3,78), disusul tata kelola dan keamanan dengan skor (3,73). Pada tingkat item, kebutuhan tertinggi adalah fasilitas bermain dalam–luar ruang (K6 = 3,83), sementara yang relatif terendah adalah preferensi alat permainan edukatif berbasis teknologi informasi (K8 = 3,12) dan layanan antar-jemput (K12 = 3,23). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kebutuhan daycare di lingkungan UPI sangat tinggi, sehingga perancangan layanan sebaiknya difokuskan pada peningkatan kompetensi pengasuh, mutu fasilitas fisik, serta penguatan tata kelola dan keamanan. This study aims to describe the needs of working parents for daycare services in the environment of the Indonesia University of Education (UPI) and to map the priority aspects of these services. The study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey method through a structured questionnaire. The instrument consists of three categorical questions and 23 Likert scale statements that have been validated with excellent reliability (Cronbach's α = 0.938). The research sample consisted of 95 respondents selected using accidental sampling techniques. Data analysis included calculating averages, percentages, classifying levels of need, and ranking priorities based on items and aspects. The results showed that all items scored above 3.00, with an overall average of 3.68. A total of 85% of respondents were in the very high need category. The aspects with the highest averages were caregiver qualifications and physical facilities, each with a score of 3.78, followed by management and security with a score of 3.73. At the item level, the highest need was for indoor and outdoor play facilities (K6 = 3.83), while the relatively lowest needs were for educational toys based on information technology (K8 = 3.12) and shuttle services (K12 = 3.23). These findings confirm that the need for daycare in the UPI environment is very high, so service design should focus on improving caregiver competence, the quality of physical facilities, and strengthening governance and security.
