Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keterlibatan peran ayah di era digital dengan menyoroti pola asuh yang diterapkan oleh TikToker Papi Benny dalam membentuk karakter anaknya, Abe, khususnya aspek kemandirian dan kepercayaan diri. Di era digital, ayah tidak lagi terbatas pada peran sebagai pencari nafkah, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai mentor, teladan, dan fasilitator pendidikan karakter. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi konten media sosial, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Papi Benny menerapkan pola asuh demokratis (otoritatif) yang ditandai dengan komunikasi dua arah, pemberian kebebasan yang disertai batasan, serta konsistensi dalam mendukung eksplorasi anak. Melalui keterlibatan aktif di media sosial, Papi Benny berupaya menyeimbangkan eksistensi digital dengan kehidupan nyata, sehingga Abe dapat tumbuh mandiri, percaya diri, dan terhindar dari eksploitasi popularitas. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa keterlibatan ayah secara aktif dalam pengasuhan di era digital memberikan kontribusi penting terhadap pembentukan karakter anak. This study aims to examine the role of fathers in the digital era by focusing on the parenting practices of TikToker Papi Benny in shaping his child Abe’s character, particularly in fostering independence and self-confidence. In the digital age, fathers are no longer limited to the role of breadwinners but also serve as mentors, role models, and facilitators of character education. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, social media content observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that Papi Benny applies a democratic (authoritative) parenting style characterized by two-way communication, the provision of freedom with boundaries, and consistency in supporting the child’s exploration. Through his active involvement on social media, Papi Benny seeks to balance digital presence with real-life interactions, enabling Abe to grow as an independent and confident child while avoiding the risks of digital exploitation. This study highlights that fathers’ active involvement in digital-era parenting significantly contributes to children’s character development.
