Abstract

Pendahuluan: Halusinasi pendengaran merupakan salah satu gejala utama pada pasien skizofrenia yang ditandai dengan gangguan persepsi sensori, seperti mendengar suara yang tidak nyata, yang dapat mengganggu fungsi kognitif, emosional dan sosial. Art therapy berbasis menggambar bebas dapat digunakan sebagai intervensi non-farmakologis untuk membantu mengurangi gejala halusinasi melalui pengalihan perhatian dengan aktivitas visual dan motorik. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas terapi seni dalam menurunkan gejala halusinasi pendengaran pada pasien skizofrenia. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kasus deskriptif pada seorang pasien wanita berusia 33 tahun yang menjalani empat sesi terapi seni berdurasi 45-60 menit di rumah sakit jiwa. Selama terapi, pasien diberikan kebebasan menggambar sesuai tema yang telah ditentukan, dan gejala halusinasi dievaluasi sebelum dan setelah intervensi menggunakan form observasi. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan gejala halusinasi yang signifikan, dari 93% pada awal terapi menjadi 21% setelah empat sesi. Pasien juga menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan untuk mengontrol halusinasi, menjadi lebih fokus, tenang, dan kooperatif selama terapi. Kesimpulan: Art therapy menggambar bebas terbukti efektif sebagai metode pelengkap dalam rehabilitasi pasien skizofrenia yang membantu mengurangi gejala halusinasi. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi art therapy dalam pendekatan multidisiplin untuk perawatan pasien skizofrenia. Introduction: Auditory hallucinations are one of the primary symptoms in patients with schizophrenia, characterized by sensory perception disturbances such as hearing unreal voices, which can disrupt cognitive, emotional, and social functions. Free drawing-based art therapy can be used as a non-pharmacological intervention to help reduce hallucination symptoms by diverting attention through visual and motor activities. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of art therapy in reducing auditory hallucination symptoms in patients with schizophrenia. Methods: This study employed a descriptive case study design involving a 33-year-old female patient who underwent four sessions of art therapy lasting 45–60 minutes each at a psychiatric hospital. During the therapy, the patient was given the freedom to draw based on predetermined themes, and hallucination symptoms were evaluated before and after the intervention using an observation form. Result: The findings showed a significant reduction in hallucination symptoms, from 93% at the beginning of therapy to 21% after four sessions. The patient also demonstrated improved ability to control hallucinations and became more focused, calm, and cooperative during the therapy. Conclusion: Free drawing art therapy has proven effective as a complementary method in the rehabilitation of patients with schizophrenia by helping to reduce hallucination symptoms. This study recommends integrating art therapy into multidisciplinary approaches to the care of schizophrenia patients.
