Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan analisis kebutuhan pengembangan Chemical Bond Misconception Test dan aplikasinya dalam mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi mahasiswa calon guru kimia, selain itu bertujuan juga untuk mengetahui tingkatvaliditas dan reliabilitas butir soal, mengetahui hasil uji kepraktisan aplikasi chemical bond misconception test dalam mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi mahasiswa calon guru kimia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah development and validation. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu Universitas di Sumatera Utara pada bulan Januari hingga Juli 2025. Partisipan yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah lima dosen pendidikan kimia dan 69 mahasiswa calon guru kimia yang berada di semester 4 di tahun 2025. Hasil analisis menunjukkan mahasiswa calon guru kimia masih mengalami miskonsepsi tinggi pada topik ikatan ionik-kovalen, struktur Lewis, dan polaritas molekul. maka, dikembangkan aplikasi Chemical Bond Misconception Test (CBMT) dan aplikasinya sesuai kebutuhan dosen dan mahasiswa. Berdasarkan uji validitas, terdapat 20 soal valid dengan reliabilitas 0,84 (sangat reliabel), sehingga instrumen layak digunakan. uji realclass menunjukkan rata-rata 55,91% mahasiswa mengalami miskonsepsi, rata-rata 6,37% mahasiswa tidak paham konsep, dan rata-rata 37,57% mahasiswa paham konsep. Selain itu, uji kepraktisan memperoleh rata-rata 90%, menunjukkan CBMT sangat praktis digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi mahasiswa. This study aims to produce a needs analysis for the development of the Chemical Bond Misconception Test and its application in identifying misconceptions among prospective chemistry teacher students. It also aims to determine the validity and reliability of the test items and to evaluate the practicality of the Chemical Bond Misconception Test application in identifying students’ misconceptions. The research method used was development and validation. This study was conducted at a university in North Sumatra from January to July 2025. The participants involved were five chemistry education lecturers and 69 fourth-semester prospective chemistry teacher students in 2025. The analysis results showed that prospective chemistry teacher students still had a high level of misconceptions on ionic-covalent bonds, Lewis structures, and molecular polarity. Therefore, the Chemical Bond Misconception Test (CBMT) application was developed according to the needs of lecturers and students. Based on validity testing, 20 items were valid with a reliability of 0.84 (very reliable), making the instrument suitable for use. The real-class test showed that on average 55.91% of students had misconceptions, 6.37% did not understand the concepts, and 37.57% understood the concepts. In addition, the practicality test yielded an average of 90%, indicating that the CBMT is very practical to use in identifying students’ misconceptions.
