Abstract
This study aims to describe the socioeconomic status of parents in relation to children's home numeracy practices at SDN Giriwangi, Pendeuy Village, Kawalu District. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study technique. The research subjects consist of five elementary school students and their parents, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that although most parents have low educational backgrounds and limited income, they still show concern for their children's numeracy activities at home. There is variation in parental involvement, ranging from those who actively facilitate educational games and engage children in contextual activities such as counting while selling goods or harvesting crops, to those with minimal involvement due to time constraints and work obligations. This study affirms that socioeconomic status is not the sole factor determining home numeracy practices. Parental awareness, the values they place on education, and their willingness to engage in their children's learning activities significantly influence children's numeracy development. Therefore, empowering parents through education and community-based support is essential to fostering a positive learning environment at home, particularly in economically disadvantaged areas.
