    Abstract

    Pertanyaan tentang ruang dan bentuk pada soal PISA yang berhubungan dengan kemampuan berpikir spasial, merupakan pertanyaan dengan skor paling rendah dengan rata-rata skor sebesar 25,8. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan kemampuan berpikir spasial peserta didik menjadi hal yang penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas media pembelajaran berbasis SIG terhadap kemampuan berpikir spasial peserta didik di SMAN 4 Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini: (1) Kemampuan berpikir spasial pada pada kelas eksperimen 1 (ArcGIS) menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan; (2) Kemampuan berpikir spasial pada pada kelas eksperimen 2 (My Maps) menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan (3) Kemampuan berpikir spasial kelas kontrol menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan namun lebih rendah dibandingkan kelas eksperimen 1 dan kelas eksperimen 2; (4) Media pembelajaran SIG (ArcGIS) menunjukkan kategori efektivitas “cukup efektif” terhadap kemampuan berpikir spasial peserta didik; (5) Media pembelajaran SIG (Google MyMaps) menunjukkan kategori efektivitas “cukup efektif” terhadap kemampuan berpikir spasial peserta didik; (6) Media pembelajaran gambar peta menunjukkan kategori efektivitas “kurang efektif” terhadap kemampuan berpikir spasial peserta didik. Direkomendasikan kepada guru untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyusun dan menerapkan media pembelajaran SIG. The question of space and shape content in PISA questions related to spatial thinking ability is the content with the lowest score with an average score of 25.8. Therefore, improving students' spatial thinking ability is important. This study aims to analyze the effect of GIS-based learning media on students' spatial thinking ability at SMAN 4 Bandung. The research method used is a quasi-experimental with a quantitative approach. The results of this study: (1) Spatial thinking ability in experimental class 1 (ArcGIS) showed a significant increase; (2) Spatial thinking ability in experimental class 2 (My Maps) showed a significant increase (3) Spatial thinking ability in control class showed a significant increase but lower than experimental class 1 and experimental class 2; (4) GIS learning media (ArcGIS) shows an effectiveness category of "quite effective" towards students' spatial thinking abilities; (5) GIS learning media (Google MyMaps) shows an effectiveness category of "quite effective" towards students' spatial thinking abilities; (6) Map image learning media shows an effectiveness category of "less effective" towards students' spatial thinking abilities. It is recommended for teachers to improve their ability to compile and apply GIS learning media.
