    Abstract

    Matematika merupakan salah satu pelajaran yang mendorong siswa untuk dapat lebih berpikir kreatif dalam menerapkannya serta diharapkan siswa mampu merespon dengan kritis. Namun, pada sebagian siswa, matematika memiliki kesan negatif seperti membosankan, menyeramkan, dan sulit. Hal ini berdampak kepada hasil belajar matematika siswa yang tergolong rendah, khususnya pada siswa kelas VII dalam materi statistika. Salah satu faktor penting dalam meningkatkan keberhasilan dan hasil belajar siswa adalah dengan meningkatkan peer attachment dan student engagement. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh dari peer attachment atau student engagement terhadap hasil belajar matematika kelas VII. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode regresi linear sederhana dan berganda untuk memenuhi tujuan penelitian, yaitu: (1) Mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh peer attachment terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VII pada pembelajaran matematika materi statistika; (2) Mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh student engagement terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VII pada pembelajaran matematika materi statistika; (3) Menganalisis apakah terdapat pengaruh peer attachment dan student engagement terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VII pada pembelajaran matematika materi statistika. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes hasil belajar, observasi, angket, dan wawancara dengan instrumen yang dibuat sesuai dengan aspek masing-masing variabel. Sampel yang diambil pada penelitian ini sebanyak 32 siswa kelas VII dengan metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Peer attachment tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika; (2) Student engagement tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika; dan (3) Peer attachment dan student engagement secara bersamaan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika. Selain itu, kedua variabel independen juga berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VII. Mathematics is one of the subjects that encourages students to think more creatively in applying it and is expected that students are able to respond critically. However, for some students, mathematics has a negative impression such as boring, frightening, and difficult. This has an impact on the mathematics learning outcomes of students which are relatively low, especially for seventh grade students in the statistics material. One of the important factors in improving the success and learning outcomes of students is by increasing peer attachment and student engagement. This study analyzes the effect of peer attachment or student engagement on the mathematics learning outcomes of seventh grade students. This study uses simple and multiple linear regression methods to achieve the research objectives, namely: (1) To find out whether there is a effect of peer attachment on the learning outcomes of seventh grade students in mathematics learning in the statistics material; (2) To find out whether there is a effect of student engagement on the learning outcomes of seventh grade students in mathematics learning in the statistics material; (3) To analyze whether there is a effect of peer attachment and student engagement on the learning outcomes of seventh grade students in mathematics learning in the statistics material. Data were collected using learning outcome tests, observation, questionnaires, and interviews with instruments made according to the aspects of each variable. The sample taken in this study was 32 seventh grade students with the sampling method using purposive sampling. The results of the analysis show that: (1) Peer attachment has no significant effect on mathematics learning outcomes; (2) Student engagement has no significant effect on mathematics learning outcomes; and (3) Peer attachment and student engagement together have a significant effect on mathematics learning outcomes. In addition, both independent variables also have a positive effect on improving the mathematics learning outcomes of seventh grade students.
