    Abstract

    Museum berperan penting sebagai pusat edukasi dan pelestarian budaya dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi masyarakat. Perkembangan teknologi digital telah mendorong museum untuk melakukan inovasi dalam menyajikan koleksinya. Tantangan yang dihadapi saat ini adalah bagaimana koleksi langka tidak hanya tersimpan sebagai artefak fisik, tetapi juga dapat diakses secara luas oleh masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Museum Pos Indonesia Bandung dengan tujuan menghasilkan media e-book yang mampu memperluas akses informasi, meningkatkan daya tarik koleksi, serta memperkuat upaya pelestarian budaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan Design and Development (D&D) dengan model 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate) dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, angket, serta uji coba terbatas kepada 15 orang pengunjung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa e-book dinyatakan sangat layak digunakan sebagai media edukatif sekaligus sarana pelestarian koleksi, dengan respon positif dari ahli media sebesar 100%, validasi ahli materi 98%, dan uji coba pengguna mencapai 84,78%. Seluruh penilaian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa e-book ini termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa e-book dapat menyajikan koleksi secara menarik, mudah diakses, dan efektif, sekaligus meningkatkan minat pengunjung dalam memahami koleksi serta mendukung pelestarian budaya secara modern. Museums play an important role as centers of education and cultural preservation in fulfilling society’s need for information. The development of digital technology has encouraged museums to innovate in presenting their collections. The current challenge lies in ensuring that rare collections are not only stored as physical artifacts but can also be widely accessed by the public. This research was conducted at the Indonesian Postal Museum Bandung with the aim of developing an e-book as a medium to broaden information access, enhance the attractiveness of collections, and strengthen cultural preservation efforts. The research employed a Design and Development (D&D) approach using the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and limited trials involving 15 visitors. The results show that the e-book is highly feasible to be used as both an educational medium and a preservation tool, with positive responses from media experts (100%), material experts (98%), and limited user trials (84.78%). These assessments categorize the e-book as very feasible. The findings highlight that the e-book can present collections in an engaging, accessible, and effective way, while also increasing visitor interest in understanding the collections and supporting cultural preservation through modern approaches.
