Abstract
Kepercayaan diri (self-confidence) merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam kepribadian yang mempengaruhi kemampuan seseorang dalam berinteraksi dan menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan sosial. Bagi mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS, kepercayaan diri berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kemampuan interaksi sosial. Namun, pada kenyataannya mahasiswa kerap kali merasa kurang percaya diri ketika berada dalam lingkungan sosial. Sehingga tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepercayaan diri (self-confidence) terhadap kemampuan interaksi sosial mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS UPI. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional serta teknik pengumpulan data melalui survei berupa kuesioner yang dirancang khusus untuk mengukur tingkat kepercayaan diri (self-confidence) dan kemampuan interaksi sosial mahasiswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS UPI angkatan 2021-2024 dengan jumlah 80 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) gambaran umum tingkat kepercayaan diri (self-confidence) mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS UPI berada pada tingkat sedang. (2) gambaran umum tingkat kemampuan interaksi sosial mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS UPI berada pada tingkat sedang. (3) nilai sig 0,000 < 0,05 yang berarti terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara kepercayaan diri (self-confidence) dengan kemampuan interaksi sosial mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS UPI yaitu sebesar 68,9%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kepercayaan diri (self-confidence) berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan interaksi sosial mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Meskipun begitu, berdasarkan hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masih terdapat beberapa kelemahan dalam aspek kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan interaksi sosial khususnya dalam indikator “objektif” dan “penampilan nyata”. Self-confidence is an important aspect of personality that influences a person's ability to interact and adapt to the social environment. For social studies students, self-confidence plays an important role in improving social interaction ability. However, in reality, students often feel less confident when they are in social environment. So, the aim of this study is to determine the effect of self-confidence on the social interaction ability of UPI social studies education students. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method and data collection techniques through a survey in the form of a questionnare specifically designed to measure the level of self-confidence and social interaction ability of students. The sample in this study was 80 social studies education students from the 2021-2024 intake at UPI. The research results show that (1) the general level of self confidence among social studies education students at UPI is at a moderate level. (2) the general level of social interaction ability among social studies education students at UPI is at a moderate level. (3) the significance value is 0.000 <0.05, indicates that there is a positive and significant influence between self-confidence and the social interaction ability of social studies education students at UPI is 68,9%. Therefore, it can be concluded that self-confidence has an influence on the social interaction ability of social studies education students at the Indonesia University of Education. Nevertheless, the research findings indicate that there are still some weaknesses in the aspects of self-confidence and social interaction ability, particularly in the indicators of “objective” and “real appearance”.
