Abstract
Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis membuat siswa kesulitan dalam menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan menarik kesimpulan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh penggunaan model yang kurang efektif dan kurang melibatkan siswa sebagai subjek utama dalam membantu melatih kemampuan berpikir kritisnya. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Think Pair Share terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V materi bencana alam, mengetahui pengaruh model konvensional terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V materi bencana alam dan mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang menggunakan model Think Pair Share dan model konvensional. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian yaitu quasi- experimental desain non-equivalent control group. Sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas Va SDN Sukaraja 1 (29 siswa) dan kelas Vb SDN Sukaraja 1 (28 siswa) menggunakan teknik purposive (pertimbangan tertentu). Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen yaitu tes berupa soal pilihan ganda dan uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif model Think Pair Share dan model konvensional terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan hasil beda rata-rata dari data pretest dan posttest yaitu sig. 0,000<0,05. Pada hasil n-gain, pembelajaran model Think Pair Share meningkat lebih efektif yaitu sebesar 0,516 dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran model konvensional sebesar 0,284. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, model pembelajaran Think Pair Share berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V materi bencana alam. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, kepada pendidik dapat mempertimbangkan penggunaan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share sebagai alternatif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, khususnya pada materi yang membutuhkan analisis dan evaluasi mendalam seperti bencana alam. This is caused by the use of less effective models and insufficient involvement of students as the main subjects in helping to train their critical thinking skills. The objectives of this study are to determine the effect of the Think Pair Share model on the critical thinking abilities of fifth-grade students on the topic of natural disasters, to assess the effect of conventional models on the critical thinking abilities of fifth-grade students on the topic of natural disasters, and to explore the differences in critical thinking abilities between students using the Think Pair Share model and those using conventional models. The research approach used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. The samples in this study include fifth-grade students from Va class at SDN Sukaraja 1 (29 students) and Vb class at SDN Sukaraja 1 (28 students), using purposive sampling (specific considerations). This research uses instruments such as tests in the form of multiple-choice questions and descriptive answers as. The results of the study indicate that there is a positive influence of the Think Pair Share model and conventional model on students' critical thinking skills with a mean difference result from the pretest and posttest data of sig. 0.000<0.05. In terms of n-gain results, the Think Pair Share learning model was more effective with an increase of 0.516 compared to the conventional learning model with an increase of 0.284. Based on the results of this study, the Think Pair Share learning model has an effect on the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students on the topic of natural disasters. Based on these results, educators can consider using the Think Pair Share learning model as an alternative to improve students' critical thinking skills, especially on materials that require deep analysis and evaluation such as natural disasters.
