    Abstract

    Penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada materi bangun datar. Siswa masih kesulitan dalam memahami konsep- konsep yang dipelajari karena pemilihan pendekatan pembelajaran yang belum sesuai. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran belum memusatkan siswa untuk merekonstruksi pengetahuan mereka sendiri, sehingga perlu adanya inovasi dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan RME berbantuan Geoboard terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas IV pada materi bangun datar. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen dengan jenis penelitian non-equivalent control-group design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Paseh. Dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling terpilihlah SD Negeri Paseh 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan SD Negeri Cileuksa sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes pemahaman konsep matematis dan lembar observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 76,31 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 64,18. Pendekatan RME berbantuan Geoboard memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,62. Begitu juga dengan pendekatan konvensional memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,45. Dalam hal ini terdapat perbedaan pengaruh pendekatan RME berbantuan Geoboard dengan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Students still have difficulty in understanding the concepts learned because the choice of learning approaches is not appropriate. The implementation of learning has not focused students to reconstruct their own knowledge, so there is a need for innovation in learning to improve the ability to understand mathematical concepts. This research was conducted to determine the effect of the RME approach assisted by Geoboard on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of fourth grade students in the material of plane figures. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control-group design. The population in this study were all fourth grade elementary school students in Paseh District. Using a purposive sampling technique, SD Negeri Paseh 1 was selected as the experimental class and SD Negeri Cileuksa as the control class. The instruments used were mathematical concept understanding questions and observation sheets. Based on the research results, the average posttest score for the experimental class was 76.31 while the control class was 64.18. The RME approach assisted by Geoboard has a positive influence on the ability to understand mathematical concepts with an N-Gain value of 0.62. Likewise, the conventional approach has a positive influence on the ability to understand mathematical concepts with an N-Gain value of 0.45. In this case, there is a difference in the influence of the Geoboard-assisted RME approach and conventional learning on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts.
