    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji kualitas instrumen Momentum Impuls Multi-Tier Test (MIMT2) yang dirancang untuk mengidentifikasi profil konsepsi siswa SMA beserta sumbernya terhadap materi momentum dan impuls. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pengembangan instrumen, serta analisis data menggunakan Rasch Model. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 217 siswa kelas XI peminatan IPA di SMA Negeri Kabupaten Majalengka, yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Validitas isi dianalisis menggunakan Content Validity Ratio (CVR), sedangkan kualitas butir soal dianalisis menggunakan Rasch Model. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas butir soal memenuhi kriteria valid (Infit MNSQ: 0,5–1,5; Pt. Measure Corr: 0,4–0,8) dan reliabel (reliabilitas butir: 0,90–0,92; reliabilitas responden: 0,67–0,83; Cronbach's Alpha: 0,74–0,88). Instrumen MIMT2 dinyatakan layak digunakan sebagai alat diagnostik yang akurat dan konsisten. Sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori Lack of Knowledge (65–70%) sedangkan proporsi siswa dengan pemahaman ilmiah (Scientific Conception) masih rendah (<20%). Sumber pengetahuan utama siswa berasal dari internet (40%) dan pemikiran pribadi (22%), dengan kontribusi guru hanya sebesar 11%. Temuan ini menekankan perlunya intervensi pedagogis yang lebih terarah serta integrasi sumber belajar yang beragam untuk meningkatkan literasi konseptual dan pemahaman ilmiah siswa secara menyeluruh. This study aims to develop and evaluate the quality of the Momentum Impulse Multi-Tier Test (MIMT2), designed to identify high school students' conceptual profiles and their sources in physics. A quantitative approach was employed using test instrument development methods, with data analysis conducted through the Rasch Model. A total of 217 eleventh-grade science-stream students from public senior high schools in Majalengka Regency were selected using purposive sampling. Content validity was assessed using the Content Validity Ratio (CVR), while item quality was evaluated through Rasch analysis. The results indicate that most test items met the criteria for validity (Infit MNSQ: 0.5–1.5; Pt. Measure Corr: 0.4–0.8) and reliability (item reliability: 0.90–0.92; person reliability: 0.67–0.83; Cronbach's Alpha: 0.74–0.88). The MIMT2 instrument is thus deemed feasible for accurately and consistently measuring student understanding. Findings show that the majority of students fall into the Lack of Knowledge (65–70%) categories, while the proportions of students with scientific understanding (Scientific Conception) remain low (<20%). The primary sources of students’ knowledge were the internet (40%) and personal reasoning (22%), while teacher explanations contributed only 11%. These findings highlight the low level of conceptual understanding and the predominance of self-directed digital learning, underscoring the need for targeted pedagogical interventions and more diverse learning resources to enhance students' scientific literacy and conceptual mastery.
