    Abstract

    Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya pemahaman konsep peserta didik di tingkat SD pada pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran RADEC terhadap pemahaman konsep peserta didik kelas V sekolah dasar pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari peserta didik kelas V SD, dengan jumlah 32 peserta didik di kelas eksperimen dan 30 peserta didik di kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah Lembar observasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji Paired Sample T-Test, uji Wilcoxon, uji Mann-Whitney U, dan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran RADEC cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik di kelas eksperimen yang menghasilkan rata-rata lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran RADEC lebih efektif dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional dan dapat menjadi alternatif model pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik sekolah dasar. Adapun implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah dapat membantu peserta didik memahami konsep melalui keterlibatan langsung dalam setiap tahapan pembelajaran. The background of this research is the low concept understanding of students at the elementary level in science learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the RADEC learning model on the understanding of the concept of grade V elementary school students on the material of the human digestive system. The research method used is quasi-experiment with Nonequivalent control group design. The subjects of this study consisted of fifth grade students, with a total of 32 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. The data collection techniques used were observation sheets and tests. The data analysis techniques used were normality test, homogeneity test, Paired Sample T-Test, Wilcoxon test, Mann-Whitney U test, and N-Gain test. The results showed that the RADEC learning model was quite effective in improving students' concept understanding in the experimental class which resulted in a higher average than the control class. Thus, it can be concluded that the RADEC learning model is more effective than conventional learning and can be an alternative learning model to improve the concept understanding of elementary school students. The implication of this research is that it can help students understand concepts through direct involvement in each stage of learning.
