    Abstract

    Quarter life crisis (QLC) merupakan krisis psikologis yang umum dialami individu usia dewasa awal, termasuk mahasiswa, yang ditandai dengan kebingungan identitas, tekanan sosial, dan kecemasan terhadap masa depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami karakteristik QLC pada mahasiswa Program Studi Bimbingan dan Konseling. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, melibatkan lima partisipan yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan dianalisis secara tematik. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan empat tema utama yaitu kebingungan identitas dan ketidakpastian masa depan, ketidakstabilan emosi dan tekanan lingkungan, ketakutan akan penolakan sosial, dan upaya adaptasi melalui refleksi diri. Mahasiswa mengalami konflik antara tuntutan sosial dengan pemahaman diri yang belum matang, ditandai dengan keraguan terhadap jurusan, ketakutan gagal, dan kebutuhan validasi dari lingkungan. Ketidakpastian ini berdampak pada kestabilan emosi dan proses pengambilan keputusan. Namun, partisipan juga menunjukkan usaha untuk mengenali diri dan menentukan arah hidup secara lebih sadar. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran komprehensif tentang dinamika QLC pada mahasiswa dan relevan untuk pengembangan layanan bimbingan dan konseling yang mendukung perkembangan identitas dan regulasi emosi mahasiswa di usia dewasa awal. Quarter life crisis (QLC) is a psychological crisis commonly experienced by individuals in early adulthood, including university students. It is characterized by identity confusion, social pressure, and anxiety about the future. This study aims to understand the characteristics of QLC among students in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving five participants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically. The findings revealed four main themes: identity confusion and uncertainty about the future, emotional instability and environmental pressure, fear of social rejection, and adaptive efforts through self-reflection. Students experienced internal conflict between social expectations and an underdeveloped self-understanding, manifested in doubts about their academic major, fear of failure, and a need for external validation. This uncertainty affected their emotional stability and decision-making processes. However, participants also demonstrated efforts to better understand themselves and determine their life direction more consciously. This study provides a comprehensive picture of the dynamics of QLC among university students and is relevant for the development of guidance and counseling services that support identity development and emotional regulation during early adulthood.
