    Abstract

    Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan tingkat kerawanan tinggi terhadap bencana alam, khususnya gempa bumi, karena secara geografis berada pada pertemuan tiga lempeng tektonik utama, yaitu Lempeng Eurasia, Indo Australia, dan Pasifik. Kondisi ini menegaskan pentingnya edukasi mitigasi bencana sejak dini, terutama bagi peserta didik sekolah dasar yang tergolong kelompok rentan. Kurangnya ketersediaan media pembelajaran yang menarik dan sesuai dengan karakteristik anak menjadi penghambat dalam pembelajaran mitigasi bencana alam khusunya gempa bumi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku cerita bergambar sebagai upaya dalam mengenalkan langkah-langkah mitigasi bencana gempa bumi yang juga dirancang untuk menunjang kegiatan literasi peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang mencakup lima tahap: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, dan Evaluate. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, angket respon peserta didik dan pendidik, serta validasi oleh ahli materi, media, dan bahasa. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media tergolong sangat layak dengan skor 93% (ahli materi), 91% (ahli media), dan 75% (ahli bahasa). Uji coba siklus I (kelompok kecil) memperoleh skor 96%, dan siklus II (kelompok besar) sebesar 99,67%. Respon pendidik terhadap media juga mencapai 100%. Dengan demikian, buku cerita bergambar ini dinyatakan layak dan efektif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran mitigasi bencana gempa bumi di sekolah dasar, serta berpotensi mendukung kegiatan literasi siswa. Indonesia is one of the countries with a high level of vulnerability to natural disasters, especially earthquakes, due to its geographical location at the confluence of three major tectonic plates, namely the Eurasian, Indo-Australian, and Pacific Plates. This condition emphasizes the importance of disaster mitigation education from an early age, especially for elementary school students who are classified as vulnerable groups. The lack of availability of interesting learning media that are appropriate to the characteristics of children is an obstacle in learning about natural disaster mitigation, especially earthquakes. Therefore, this study aims to develop a picture storybook as an effort to introduce earthquake disaster mitigation steps that are also designed to support student literacy activities. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes five stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation, student and educator response questionnaires, and validation by material, media, and language experts. The validation results showed that the media was classified as very suitable with scores of 93% (material experts), 91% (media experts), and 75% (linguists). The first cycle trial (small group) obtained a score of 96%, and the second cycle (large group) 99.67%. The educators' response to the media also reached 100%. Thus, this picture storybook is declared suitable and effective for use as a learning medium for earthquake disaster mitigation in elementary schools, and has the potential to support student literacy activities.
