    Abstract

    Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar pada pembelajaran IPS, disebabkan oleh penggunaan model yang kurang efektif dalam mengembangkan potensi. Selain itu, dalam proses belajar mengajar, siswa kurang dilibatkan secara aktif, jadi menyebabkan pembelajaran lebih berpusat pada guru. Dalam mengatasi permasalahan ini diperlukan upaya untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran yang sesuai yaitu model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan permainan monopoli. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis pengaruh model Problem Based Learning berbantuan permainan monopoli terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SD pada pembelajaran IPS. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen desain Nonequivalen Control Group Design. Instrumen dan teknik pengumpulan data penelitian yang digunakan adalah soal tes dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan 1) terdapat pengaruh positif model Problem Based Learning berbantuan permainan monopoli terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan hasil beda rata-rata dari data pretest dan posttest yaitu sig. 0,000<0,05, 2) terdapat pengaruh positif model pembelajaran konvensional terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan hasil beda rata-rata dari data pretest dan posttest yaitu sig. 0,000<0,05, 3) terdapat perbedaan pengaruh yang signifikan di antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji N-Gain menunjukan terjadi peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan kategori sedang di kelas eksperimen menggunakan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan permainan monopoli dan peningkatan kategori rendah pada kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan permainan monopoli berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SD dalam pembelajaran IPS. The low critical thinking skills of elementary school students in social studies learning are caused by the use of less effective models in developing their potential. In addition, during the teaching and learning process, students are less actively involved, which results in a teacher-centered learning environment. To address this issue, efforts are needed to implement an appropriate learning model, namely the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Monopoly game. This research aims to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning model aided by Monopoly games on the critical thinking skills of elementary school students in social studies learning. The research approach used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental research method using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The instruments and data collection techniques used in the study are test questions and observation sheets. The results show that 1) there is a positive effect of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Monopoly games on students' critical thinking skills with an average difference result from the pretest and posttest data being sig. 0.000<0.05, 2) there is a positive effect of the conventional learning model on students' critical thinking skills with an average difference result from the pretest and posttest data being sig. 0.000<0.05, 3) there is a significant difference in the effect between the experimental class and the control class. The results of the N-Gain test indicate an improvement in students' critical thinking skills in the moderate category in the experimental class using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by monopoly games, and a low category improvement in the control class using conventional learning. It can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model assisted by monopoly games has a positive effect on the critical thinking skills of elementary school students in social studies learning.
