    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya sikap demokratis siswa sekolah dasar yang tercermin dari kurangnya partisipasi aktif, minimnya toleransi, serta dominasi metode pembelajaran konvensional yang berpusat pada guru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Numbered Head Together (NHT) terhadap peningkatan sikap demokratis siswa kelas V dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi eksperimen tipe pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang mendapatkan perlakuan model NHT dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket dan observasi, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan uji statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara sikap demokratis siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol setelah perlakuan diberikan. Penerapan model NHT memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan sikap demokratis siswa, khususnya dalam aspek toleransi, kebebasan berpendapat, penghargaan terhadap pendapat orang lain, pengambilan keputusan melalui musyawarah, serta keterbukaan terhadap informasi baru. Oleh karena itu, model Numbered Head Together layak dipertimbangkan sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran alternatif yang berdaya guna dalam menumbuhkan sikap demokratis siswa di tingkat sekolah dasar. This study was motivated by the low level of democratic attitudes among elementary school students, as reflected in their limited active participation, lack of tolerance, and the dominance of teacher-centered conventional teaching methods. The objective of this research is to examine the influence of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model on enhancing the democratic attitudes of fifth-grade students in the context of Civics Education. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically a pretestposttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of two groups: an experimental class that received the NHT model treatment and a control class that experienced conventional learning methods. Data were collected using questionnaires and observations, and analyzed through inferential statistical tests. The results revealed a significant difference in students’ democratic attitudes between the experimental and control groups after the intervention. The implementation of the NHT model contributed positively to the development of students’ democratic attitudes, particularly in the aspects of tolerance, freedom of expression, respect for others’ opinions, decision-making through deliberation, and openness to new perspectives. Therefore, the Numbered Head Together model is considered a pedagogical approach with substantial potential in fostering democratic attitudes among elementary school students.
