Abstract
Permasalahan yang dihadapi dan sering diperbincangkan yaitu lingkungan sekitar rusak karena aktivitas manusia. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya kesadaran lingkungan dari setiap individu manusia, kurang pengetahuannya bahwa lingkungan rusak karena aktivitas manusia terutama siswa sekolah dasar. Permasalahan ini banyak siswa sekolah dasar yang kurang peduli terhadap lingkungan banyak sekali siswa yang masih mencoret-coret meja, kursi dan fasilitas lain di lingkungan sekolah. Padahal kesadaran lingkungan merupakan salah satu hal penting yang harus diajarkan sejak dini, karena pentingnya kesadaran lingkungan di kalangan muda terutama siswa sekolah dasar upaya untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih baik di masa depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap kesadaran lingkungan siswa SD kelas V pada materi perubahan kondisi alam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group. Sampel penelitian yang digunakan melibatkan siswa kelas V A sebanyak 30 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas V B sebanyak 27 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol di SDN Pakuwon I kecamatan Sumedang Selatan, Kab. Sumedang. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini melalui angket yang dirancang untuk mengukur tingkat kesadaran lingkungan siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji hipotesis untuk membandingkan perbedaan skor kesadaran lingkungan antara kedua kelompok. Dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai p (sig 0,00 < 0,05) yang berarti bahwa pembelajaran berbasis masalah berpengaruh positif terhadap kesadaran lingkungan siswa. Implikasi penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan siswa SD kelas V, sehingga mereka lebih peka terhadap perubahan kondisi alam di sekitar mereka. The problem faced and often discussed is the surrounding environment being damaged by human activities. This is caused by the lack of environmental awareness of each individual, the lack of knowledge that the environment is damaged by human activities, especially elementary school students. This problem is that many elementary school students are less concerned about the environment, many students still scribble on tables, chairs and other facilities in the school environment. In fact, environmental awareness is one of the important things that must be taught from an early age, because of the importance of environmental awareness among young people, especially elementary school students, in an effort to create a better environment in the future. This study aims to examine the effect of problem-based learning on environmental awareness of fifth-grade elementary school students on the material of changes in natural conditions. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample used involved 30 students of class V A as the experimental class and 27 students of class V B as the control class at SDN Pakuwon I, South Sumedang District, Sumedang Regency. Data collection used in this study was through a questionnaire designed to measure the level of environmental awareness of students before and after learning. Data analysis was conducted using a hypothesis test to compare differences in environmental awareness scores between the two groups. The results of this study indicate a p-value (sig 0.00 < 0.05), indicating that problem-based learning has a positive effect on students' environmental awareness. The implications of this study indicate that the implementation of problem-based learning can increase the environmental awareness of fifth-grade elementary school students, making them more sensitive to changes in the natural conditions around them.
