Abstract
Materi biologi yang bersifat abstrak memerlukan dukungan pengalaman belajar konkret. Rendahnya pengalaman tersebut dapat menyulitkan siswa membangun pemahaman yang diwujudkan dalam berbagai bentuk representasi dan pada kondisi tersebut, media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi berperan sebagai jembatan penghubung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan media 3D berbasis mikrokontroler dalam pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap peningkatan keterampilan multirepresentasi siswa SMA pada materi sistem saraf. Keterampilan yang diukur meliputi representasi visual, verbal, tabel, dan grafik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 30 siswa tanpa adanya kelompok kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media 3D berbasis mikrokontroler efektif meningkatkan keterampilan multirepresentasi siswa dengan peningkatan tertinggi terjadi pada representasi visual dengan skor N-gain 0,86. (kategori tinggi). Disertai dengan hasil kuesioner terhadap penggunaan media, sebesar 81-100% (kategori sangat baik) menunjukkan bahwa media ini tidak hanya bermanfaat secara kognitif, tetapi juga mampu meningkatkan minat dan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Namun demikian, hasil penelitian ini belum memenuhi Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal secara merata pada keseluruhan siswa, sehingga diperlukan pengembangan media yang mampu secara seimbang memfasilitasi seluruh bentuk representasi. Biology materials that are abstract in nature require the support of concrete learning experiences. This lack of experience can make it difficult for students to build understanding that is manifested in various forms of representation and in such conditions, technology-based learning media serve as a solution. This study aims to analyze the use of microcontroller-based 3D media in Discovery Learning to improve senior high school students' multi-representation skills on the topic of the nervous system. The skills measured include visual, verbal, tabular, and graphic representations. The research method used was pre-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 30 students without a control group. The results showed that the use of microcontroller-based 3D media effectively improved students' multi-representation skills with the highest increase observed in visual representation (N-gain=0.86; high category). Students’ responses toward the media ranged from 81–100% (very good category), indicating that the media was not only cognitively beneficial, but also capable of increasing student’ interest and involvement in the learning process. However, the results of this study have not met the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) equally for all students, so it is necessary to develop media that can facilitate all forms of representation equally.
