Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media digital flipbook terhadap kemampuan literasi bahasa Inggris pada anak usia dini. Masih rendahnya kualitas literasi di Indonesia, terutama literasi bahasa Inggris pada anak, menjadi latar belakang perlunya media pembelajaran yang interaktif dan menyenangkan. Digital flipbook yang dilengkapi dengan fitur audio narasi dan permainan edukatif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk mendukung lima aspek literasi yaitu: phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency, dan reading comprehension. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah anak usia 5-6 tahun di salah satu lembaga PAUD di Kota Purwakarta. Berdasarkan uji statistik paired sample t-test yang ditunjukkan oleh rata-rata selisih sebesar-27,600 signifikansi <0,001. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest. Selain itu, hasil uji N Gain dengan rata-rata 0,76 menunjukkan kategori peningkatan tergolong tinggi. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa digital flipbook dapat menjadi media pembelajaran yang efektif dan menarik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi bahasa Inggris anak usia dini. ----- This study aims to determine the effect of using digital flipbook media on English literacy skills in early childhood. The low quality of literacy in Indonesia, especially English literacy among children, underlies the need for interactive and enjoyable learning media. A digital flipbook equipped with audio narration features and educational games was used as a learning medium to support five aspects of literacy: phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency, and reading comprehension. This study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were children aged 5–6 years at an early childhood education institution in Purwakarta City. Based on the paired sample t-test, the results showed an average difference of -27.600 with a significance value of <0.001. Thus, it can be concluded that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. In addition, the N-Gain test results with an average score of 0.76 indicated a high level of improvement. These findings prove that the digital flipbook can serve as an effective and engaging learning medium to enhance English literacy skills in early childhood.
